I got to thinking that a Favored Soul could qualify for the Stormlord PrC fairly well. Now, we'll be ignoring the deity requirement for Stormlord, as Talos isn't in Eberron. A large number of their abilities affect spears and javelins. Well guess what, looking in my ECS, Boldrei has spear as her favored weapon. That simplifies feats, but leads me to some questions.
1) What kind of deity is Boldrei, and what would her followers espouse?
2) Does the Stormlord PrC fit into Boldrei's flavor at all?
Perhaps if I had Faiths of Eberron I could find these answers myself, but I don't (yet). Any help would be nice.

Boldrei is the goddess of community and protection, so the Stormlord doesn't really fit with her. The Devourer however might be a good choice being as he is the god of storms, earthquakes, and other of the more destructive aspects of nature.

I have to say, I don't think Boldrei is a good fit for the stormlord prestige class. Boldrei is a goddess of community, home, and hearth - my guess is that her favoured weapon is a spear because that weapon is more effective when wielded in formation, defensively, by a group working together, and because it's the sort of simple weapon anyone could learn to wield as part of a community militia.

I would suggest that the Devourer, god of devastation and storms, would be a better fit for the stormlord. His favoured weapon is the trident - due to his association with the ocean - so that's not far off the spear theme anyway.

Bleh, figured as much. But the Devourer is storms, you say? Interesting... Maybe I can get my DM to house-rule tridents into Stormlord, or something.
So Boldrei's pretty much a "let's all work together and get along" kind of deity?

Yes, Boldrei is a cooperative community type, whereas the Stormlord (and Talos) are "rampaging destruction everywhere bwa-ha-ha!" types. That suits the Devourer just fine, but the character would be considered a lunatic by the standards of the Host.

Lunatic, heh. It'd make a potentially fun character. As long as I can get along with the party somehow. Ah, well. Off in pursuit of another idea. Thanks for setting me straight, though.

So Boldrei's pretty much a "let's all work together and get along" kind of deity? All of the soverign host is pretty much "lets all work together and get along". The division between the sovereign host and the dark six is primarily that the sovereign host represent the civilized aspect of the world, while the dark six are the wild aspects.

I got my hands on Faiths of Eberron, and the bit I looked at makes the Dark Six not seem as evil as I originally was thinking they are. Which is sort of nice. If the group's fine with me being a devotee of the Devourer and I can get the DM to houserule tridents as the same as spears, I'll go with that. Otherwise, Halfling Dinosaur Rider!

Otherwise, Halfling Dinosaur Rider!

That's my backup choice whenever I can't think of anything else.

In fact, it may be the answer to most other stuff, too. Neighbor's kids being noisy? Halfling Dinosaur Rider! Rat problem? Halfling Dinosaur Rider! Out of milk? Halfling Dinosaur Rider!

Out of milk? Halfling Dinosaur Rider!I don't know which one you plan on milking, but either way, just eww... :P

Both, and you mix it together thoroughly and chill before enjoying. Now available in Chocolate!

On that note, the little crazy fey in the group said "No way!" to the Devourer thing, so this thread can go ahead and die now. I am enlightened as to the nature of Eberron's deities now, thanks all.

Yielding so easily, my boy?
So the Devourer didn't pan out, (he rarely does, he's not a reliable guy) should that stop you?
This is Eberron, where board wars erupt over the ability to worship one's own shoe. Have your character have been struck by Lightning as a child, and be a Favored Soul of the Forces of Air, whose power you channel into the strength of a stormlord.
Or, be a house Lyrandar worshiper of the "Kraken Prince", a apotheosized Founder of your house.
Lightning Will Strike, regardless of the steps taken to stop it!

:D I was thinking House Lyrandar with the whole thing to begin with. Just running around with massive destructive power of storms (and having fun doing so) is bound to get on the fey's bad side. If my other character ever happens to die, I'll see what I can do about it.

And disturbing. Two birds with one stone.
