| swoboftw04-26-07, 12:28 AM | With the 'craft construct' feat, my dwarf artificer can create constructs much larger than himself - thus raising an issue of portability. Can the spell 'shrink item' target a construct? A living constuct? A golem even? |
| Belabras04-26-07, 01:50 AM | It's a creature, not an item. So no. |
| Millenia04-26-07, 04:06 AM | Many constructs are themselves mobile anyways. ^^;a |
| Cifer04-27-07, 08:21 AM | Many constructs are themselves mobile anyways. ^^;a That's kind of the idea behind them, isn't it? For the actual question, repeat after me: Constructs are creatures, not items! |
| swoboftw04-27-07, 12:39 PM | hehe i just thought it would be cool to have a box of golems, and pick one out whenever i need one.. |
| Edymnion04-28-07, 12:50 AM | You would need Shrink Monster, not Shrink Item, which would be substantially more expensive. |
| Cifer04-28-07, 07:20 AM | Do shrink and enlarge monster exist and if so, where can they be found? |
| Yadot04-28-07, 03:02 PM | There is no shink or enlarge monster spells that I know of but an item of compression (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/compression.htm) and expansion (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/expansion.htm) should do the trick. |

Same rules as Enlarge Person, only that could be applied to non-humanoids with an appropriate increase in level... |
| UnderworldLord05-01-07, 12:40 AM | A box of compression, with a spatial anomaly inside would indeed hold several golems. Just make it red and heartshaped and hold a dozen of them. As an artificer who can make golems like cookies, this shouldn't be a problem for you to make. |
| ArcTan05-01-07, 03:13 AM | I could have sworn there was. Same rules as Enlarge Person, only that could be applied to non-humanoids with an appropriate increase in level... No, AFAIK no such spell exists in 3rd edition, and I don't remember one from earlier editions either. It might make sense -- in comparison with charm person and charm monster -- but I think it doesn't exist because monsters come in a lot more different sizes already than people, and such a spell would therefore be a lot more flexible and powerful in a way that isn't true of the different charm spells. |
| ArcTan05-01-07, 03:15 AM | Again, though, the figurine of wondrous power item does what you're looking for most closely, and it -- like many magic items -- doesn't rely on every specific spell you'd think would be necessary to replicate the effect. (All the figurines, despite all the stuff they do, *only* use the spell animate objects, IIRC). |
