Just wondering.:schemes: You would probaly have to be at a very high level spellcaster to create one. Because if you look at what and how the warforged were created, and what they were used as, and also the fact that they can speak and think for themselves, then the spells they used to create the forge and the spells they used just for the warforged, then that is some major spellcasting. |
| Cifer07-16-07, 01:55 AM | It's probably a combination of one or two high level casters, massive numbers of low level casters and another eldritch machine, kind of a proto-factory. |

It's a plot device really. |
| Zardnaar07-16-07, 04:59 AM | Fabricate, wish spell, several other artificerss and more tha a few Dragonshards would be my guess. |
| TiwazTyrsfist07-16-07, 05:07 PM | I'd say you need, Craft Wonderous item, Craft Construct, Access to epic magic, access to the spell seeds associated with matter creation and manipulating souls, a fortune in rare metals and woods, and a creation forge core. The core is an artifact level item, a twisted mass of thin metal wires and dragonshards of all three types (about 1 foot in diameter), all fused and wired together in an eyetwisting mass. This item can't be created by mortal magic, and all the existing creation forges were built around cores salvaged from Xen'drik. Merrix d'Cannith knows this, but the heads of the other branches of the house do not. |
| Zardnaar07-16-07, 07:24 PM | On a normal world I would agree with the above post. However on Eberron there is a distinct lack of epic spellcasters to create the forges. a large team of artificers/spellcasters and alot of money and Dragonshards along with Dragonmark individuals would be my guess with maybe a few wish spells used via recovered scrolls from Xendrick or something. |
| Edymnion07-16-07, 07:41 PM | As has been said, the Creation Forges are Eldritch Machines, they're not something any character can just whip up because they have the right feats, no matter how high a level they are. That said, if you just really want to set up something to do it, I would say you need the proper schema, which would most likely be sitting in Metrol right about now. |
| Jorda_The_Knight07-16-07, 07:54 PM | I think we should also consider that in Eberron historically no single person has been crediting with building a Creation Forge (though Merrix D'Cannith is created with creating the first true warforge he did not build the Creation Forge from which it came) and it would appear that the forges were built by House Cannith, most notably it's master crafters. There is no mention of epic magic, and I agree it probably did not require any. From what I've read and what I know about Eberron I would say that, mostly likely, the Creation Forges were built over a very long time by many members of House Cannith working together. Wizards, artificers and magewrights probably spent years creating the them, not one epic wizard with too much experience to spend. I would think of it more like building a skyscraper or another massive structure today, it takes a lot of people and a lot of hard work to put it all together and no one man could do the job, no matter how skilled. It took the resources and labor of an entire house to build the few Creation Forges that still exist (although all are supposedly out of use now) in Eberron, so a PC hoping to build one has a mighty huge task under their belt. |

This is basically my opinion on it. Hpwever I wouldn't rule out a sufficiently powerful individual being able to make one given access to enough resources and spells like Fabricate, wish, various epic seeds etc. Under D&D rules a high level spellcaster could build the Pyramids of Giza if he wanted to and had enough time. |

I agree. One of the purposes of Eldritch Machines is to allow these cool magic things to exist in Eberron without having to give the PCs the ability to create them. PCs aren't meant to create creation forges. NPCs can build them at DM fiat (but it shouldn't just suddenly appear) without having to have specific and recreatable rules elements ("take 1 part endure elements, 1 part fabricate item, mix well with 30,000 xp and add 100,000 gp"). |
