In my current campaign I'm looking to create a Daelkyr Lord based around Yawgmoth and the Phyrexians. I like the idea of a Daelkyr deviating from the standard fleshcrafting whom has a talent for machinary.

Any ideas on where I can go with this?

I'm considering having him corrupt Merrix D'Cannieth and eventually turn him into a Renegade Mastermaker.

You mean the Mournland?

Well Merrix would give you a Mishra but perhaps you need an Urza too. Perhaps the fight between the two is what cause the morning on your Eberron?

I find the Idea of a heroic lord of blades (Kharn anyone) playing the role of opposing Merrix intriguing.

The 'evil' warforged of the mornlands and the whole areas seeming hatred of natural life sounds a lot like phyrexia to me.

I actually came up with an idea that the Mournland was where this"Yawgmoth" was created. It freed him from his imprisonment below Cyre but it also bonded him to a fractured creation forge. He found his talent for crafting the flesh weakened but he gained connection to the energies and physiology of constructs and etc. Though then again Yawgmoth could have always been some lost Cannieth lord...

After all Yawgmoth was a Thran right? They were great artificers from I remember...sounds sorta like House Cannieth.

The Lord of Blades idea would be interesting...though it would be hard to explain his hatred for flesh unless you completely revamp him.
