You won't get all the utility spells like Fly or Invisibility, but you will be able to blast well with minimal effort, and it's a good way for newer players to get accustomed to the mechanics of spell casting. |

You mentioned that you have a psionic character, is he a Psion or a Wilder? If he is, he also is better suited for the blaster role than you as a wizard. Wizards should focus on control and "win" spells, and thats where their real power comes from. If you get a chance look up the wizard's are batman thread on the CO board for some great tips on maxing yourself out as a wizard. |
| Ravenstein08-09-07, 09:15 AM | A warmage will give you every "that guy jus' got exploded" option you'll probably ever need. However, we ran a game where a warmage was our primary and only arcane caster. There were a few instances where we were going, "D00d! Why can't you cast featherfall?!" Which is why a Wizard (Evoker) might be more idea for an adventuring party. They can explode stuff and have a bit more utility because they can prepare spells other than ones that make people go boom. A sorcerer...enh, there are a few prestige classes and feats out there that require their abilities, but nothing fancy. I've never been a big fan of the sorcerer's limited spell list. |
