These two magic items are similar, but still have their differences. What would you use, and why?

So, I've houseruled schema to work differently, based on their flavor and what I see as their intended useage.

Basicly, Schema are usable an unlimited number of times per day, but only for the purpose of item creation.

For example, if you created a schema of fireball, you could never use that schema to fireball your enemies. You could however use it to create flaming weapons, scrolls of fireball, or wands of fireball, etc. Likewise, if you had a large workshop with multiple casters working on seperate items, they could share it between them.

If House Cannith had ten artificers working on wands of fireball all in the same room, they would only need one schema, which can be passed around without disturbing the flow, etc.

Brilliant! I'm absolutely stealing that for my game.

Yup. Consider that idea stolen again.

Does someone else think that caster level 10th is a bit high as a prerequisite for the feat? This means that an artificer or other craft-oriented spellcasters could only take the feat at level 12. The prerequisite couldn't go under caster level 6th, but caster level 6th or 9th could make artificers and other spellcasters take the feat at level 6th or 9th.

Remember that Schemas are supposed to be rare or from the age of giants, when most magic was made by wizards-who get a bonus feat at lv 10

The price of eternal wands varies by spell level. 0-1 cost more than a wand, 2-3 cost less. Charting it out per casting gets me this:

Scrolls are cheaper than schemas through the 3rd casting and break even on the 4th. They are cheaper than eternal wands through the 5th casting. (This is for lvl 3 spells). Eternal wands are less expensive for 2 castings per day than 2 schemas on 2-3 level spells, although are more expensive for 0 and 1st level spells. Wands are cheaper than eternal wands or 2 schemas for 0 and 1st level spells cast twice daily more than 32 times but less than 50.

Whew.
