I'm sure this may have been asked before, but since I don't know when or where, I'll ask it now.

In the Feat description for Gatekeeper Initiate it lists Protection from Evil as an avaible choice for first level spell, but not Detect Abberation which is mentioned in the spell lists in the new spells section. Is this a misprint? Should The feat list Detect Abberation as the first level spell, not Protection from Evil?

Without referencing my books, I would be willing to say that the spell Detect Aberration is already a druid spell. Protection from evil, however, is not and as such is added to the list of available spells to a gatekeeper druid by the Gatekeeper initiate feat.

Alright, next question. Eberron lists detect abberation as 1st level but Lords of Madness lists it as 2nd. Which is right?
Personally I would think it a 1st. After all that's where all the other detect spells are other then detect magic and detect thoughts (0 and 2nd respectfully). Which I can understand those two's placements.

In Ebberon, Detect Abberation is a 1st level spell only usable by Druids of the Gatekeeper sect.

Is the Detect Abberation spell listed in Lords of Madness the same, or is it usable by others?

If you are using both books, I would treat it as 1st level on the Gatekeeper Druid list, and 2nd level on the lists of all the other classes that have access to it.

Assuming that both versions of the spell are otherwise identical.

Captain is right there - gatekeepers can use their optimized lvl 1 version while pretty much everyone else (other druids, clerics and wizards) have to stick to a lvl 2 one.
