I was looking over the lists of SLAs for the Dragonmarks (including the ones in Dragonmarked), and randomly started wondering what other abilities might fit the themes. It was at this point I started noticing, while wondering how I hadn't noticed before, that in many ways the Marks of Detection and Finding, and the Marks of Sentinel and Warding, are pretty similar in application. The first two are sensory, the second two are defensive. Just to make sure I understand the differences ... Detection seems to be more of a 'analyze this object that is present', vs Finding's 'locating something that is not present'. Sentinel is 'defense of a person or object', vs Warding being more of a 'defense of an area or place'. Is that accurate? |
