Vexx, god of Vengenance, Misfortune, and Curses. He is a shape shifter and very self centered.

I think the best way of applying him into Eberron is to make a long forgotten hermit like deity who has hidden since... I don't know, Maybe the age demons.

He needs a reason to return, but I don't know exactly why he should return.

I do however have him Thought out.

He is a Telepath/Wizard/Artificer; Chaotic Neutral
He isn't as powerful as other deities, but curses them making the other deities much weaker in comparison to him.

Where should I put Him Soveriegn Host, Dark Six, or is he a lone wolf? Is he related to other deities in any way? Or is he too similar to other deities?

Well, one thing to remember is that in Eberron, the gods may or may not even exhist. Giving him levels and the like isn't needed, because you would never actually need to have that information.

As for how to put him in, remember that Eberron is full of various differant religions, not just the sovereign host and dark six. You don't have to work him into the current scheme, you just have to stick him in a side area someplace and give him followers.

Let's see...

Chaotic Neutral.
Shapeshifter.
Likes getting even, bad luck, and punishments.
Artifice involved.

Y'know, you've basically just given the Traveller a name and backstory.

You could go with that angle, actually. "Vexx" is the name given the Traveller by a particular sect of followers who revere him for his crueler "Gotcha! Take that!" hijinks. The Traveller is often believed to love knocking people down a few pegs on occasion, sometimes with cause (vengeance) but often without (bad luck).

Couple that with the fact that the Traveller doesn't really seem to have much of a "place" in the world. He doesn't oversee any particularly important facet of the universe, like Community, Artifice, Magic, Law, Death, Destruction, etc. He's mostly Mischief, but so what? Maybe he got the short end of the stick at the start of the universe, and spends his time ******* off the other gods in retaliation?

"Vexx" could even be the Traveller's real name, not just one assigned, just as other members of the Dark Six supposedly had names once-upon-a-time. The Mockery was Dol Something-Or-Other at one point, at least.

I concur with Kinger - the traveler, possibly coupled with another one of the D6 (though I can't really decide which one) sounds most fitting. It's one of those "hey, you revere the same being - you just use another name" that made the sovereign host so popular.

I also thought that he fits perfect as the traveler but I never thought about making a sect call him Vexx and that connects very well with other back stories that I have made as well.

I also was trying to come up with a race for him to use as heralds.
But In Races o' Eberron they explained that the traveler might be responsibe for the cabinet of faces instead of creating a new race just use Changlings of The Cabinet.

My Idea for the new race was going to be a race who looked much like drow but their hair and eyes would vary in all kinds of color. but from waist down they are like Aku from samurai Jack but it was extremely hard to come up with rules for Dark matter liquid legs so I didn't use them.

But it's easier to make him use changlings.

That's funny because I had that same idea. One of his creation stories. He was created from the leftover death, evil, and pain energies.

However he dosen't have a evil domain.
The reason why is because he isn't evil, he's more of a you got what you had coming, Cruel Irony punishments. Like making a pyro who has killed an innocent is burned for a much longer time before dying.
I said his classes is because they are part of his Domains.

But I think I have a little to many domains.
Darkness, Misfortune, Curse, Mind, Magic, Artifice, Transfomation, Creation, and Chaos.

I think Misfortune can be combined with curse.
Artifice and Creation Together.
So instead have Darkness, Curse, Tranformation, Chaos, Mind, Magic, Creation.

If you wanted to create a new god you could say that it was the sixteenth Dhakaani god and that some hidden cults of worshippers have started to actively spread the faith.

It it's an Outsider from Kythri or Xoriat POSING as a god (like Conan's "gods")

I don't want to make him an outsider.

I want him to have been created in Eberron but he wanders.

First few milliania he traveled around in Dal Quor.

Then he returns to Eberron for a few milliania learning/creating magic as a wizard.

Then finally learning about the mortals new way of looking at magic of artifice becoming very skilled.

Hmm... I don't think you grasp the nature of Eberron's deities. Unlike the Forgotten Realms, the gods of Eberron don't manifest themselves on the Material Plane and roam around, generally. The only one claimed to do that is the Traveller, and nobody can prove it. Just as in the modern Catholic faith, you're not going to meet God in a bar and swap drinking songs.

Secondly, the whole "I was a great mortal, then I did something glorious/killed a god and took over/whatever" schtick doesn't really work either. New gods don't just pop up randomly when some guy gets a high a enough level. Your description of "wandering Dal Quor" for a few millenia implies that he's not overseeing anything (as the Gods do), but rather, as you said, wandering. He's "Somewhere" specific, while the Gods are "Everywhere" or "Nowhere" depending on who you ask.

Sorry to keep going on this, but I've got more...

He spent a millenia learning things? That implies he didn't know it to begin with, and he's a god. A GOD. As in omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent. He knows all and sees all, literally. Again, to draw reference to Catholicism, it's like God Himself spending a few years on Earth to learn Long Division. It just ain't right, y'know?

Now, having said all this, it must be reiterated that it is your game (if it IS your game we're talking about) and you're free to do with it as you wish. Just be advised that what you suggest just doesn't mesh with what's already there.

As noted, gods in Eberron simply don't work that way.

On the other hand, this would make an excellent background for a Radiant Idol cult.

Exactly. If your new "god" is a Radiant Idol, it would fit into the setting.

Iīm a bit dubious the Quori would just sit back and watch a "god" or whatever take a walk in their "garden" (where THEY are nearly omnipotent...), but it might be possible...

Iīd NEVER have a god in Eberron actually have stats - maybe a being that pretends to be one - , but no "real" god. Walking over to your godīs place for a beer is just not done in Eberron...

I suppose your right he should be an idol "god" who merely says he is but might just be a native outsider/Immortal Epic level Character

Who is worshipped by a fair sized cult.
Darakhoranon

Yes, that would allow you to actually use this "god" without turning the setting upside down - which would of course be possible (and might even be fun) - but then you wouldnīt be playing in Eberron any longer.

Also I want The cult to believe Vexx was responsible for The Day of Mourning.

So some stronger members would make a small base in Cyre.

What about a powerful artifact? Which the cult seeks and is the pivotal of the campaign.

It's called the mark of Vexx a crawling tattoo that chooses its host and stays until the host dies or is useless.

The cult seeks it because they think it can give them a connection to their deity, it can nullify curses as well as give the nullified curse to another, but it needs specifc knowledge of the powers in order to use them.

So if one PC has that does it offset the fairness or what?

Almost sounds like a living spell... or a symbiont...

A xoriat symbiont that can break enchantment and transfer a curse to another (wish or reality alteration with a specific effect).

Is it vulnerable to being damaged? Transmuted? Or is it a wondrous item craeted witrh intelligence?

Upset Fairness?

If you mean centering the attention?
Well, you'd be essentially making a particular PC "It" for the duration of the story arc, but there's nothiong wrong with that if the players are OK with it.

Balance? Not really, unless curses are that common in your campaign. Perhaps it's needed to remove a curse...

Of course, it all depends on whether the PCs are supposed to fight FOR or AGAINST your new "god"...

Fighting against it, the "host" of this tattoo will probably start looking for ways to get rid of it (and destroy it for good, if heīs thinking). Sure, this wonīt come up until the PCs make the necessary connections, but then...
In this case, you should prepare a way for them to succeed at least partly (for example, getting rid of it but not being able to destroy it before it disappears for the time being). Thereīs nothing as fun-killing as a plot-device that leaves you no choices and makes your character actually a puppet dancing to the DMīs strings. If the character in question cannot even choose to either accept this tattoo (thus - more or less - keeping it out of the cultistsī hands and serving the "greater good") and getting rid of it (thus allowing the cultists to unleash great evil), this wonīt be fun for your players.

If, on the other hand, you plan on the PCs working for Vexx/being members of his cult, acquiring this tattoo would make a perfect mid-term target for them...

Either way, granting this tattoo to one PC would (as DarkWarriorKarg said) elevate this character to "main character" status - thus putting all other PCs into the "additional cast" group... I donīt know your players, but in the group Iīm DMing for, this would NOT be a good idea.

Just browsing through this tread, and haven't read it all, so if this falls though and completely misses the point then just ignore me :)

I seem to remember having read someplace, (maybe in FoE?), that the Soveregin Host originally had an extra god in it, but that he/she for some reason got "edited" out when the fait was imported into Khorvaire from Sarlona. Statues of the god was defaced and goblinoids all over Khorvaire goes to great lengths - to this day - to make sure he/she isn't mentioned and does not resurface.. or that was the gist I got from the txt.

Maybe.. and this is just an idea, the gods were real when the faith was imported with the humans into Khorvaire?
I'm not saying that the gods are real, i'm just saying that the thing worshiped by these humans, may have walked om eath. Maybe they were canonised heroes, maybe were talking demons or changelings, conartists, spirits, fey, or something else, (for some reason the voodoo gods of eart crops up in my minds eye here), but something was there.

And then Vexx did something terrible. Opened the gate to let in the bad guys during that little war? Perhaps? Or maybe he was one of the bad guys from the start? Maybe thay all were? Maybe he just /f/ooked up royally trying to impress more followers?

Like I said.. maybe this is useless.. but it's an idea. Use it or don't :)

The Idea behind the mark is like this.

The mark is a sign of divine favor of an evil deity or a scorn from an evil deity.

The PC may unwillingly become a chosen one, a messiah of the cult.
Or he may be the anti-chosen one, who can stop the cult's evil messiah.

I haven't decided which way it should be.
How about a vote? Chosen one or Chosen one killer?

If the mark latchs onto a PC he may not even know he has it,
but the cult is searcing for it so they must be able to divine its wherabouts to move the plot along at least once as to make the PCs a target.

The mark itself cannot be harmed (it is less than paper thin and cannot be felt or heard).
Since I don't want the PCs to have a singled out indivdual how about one of to ways; the mark is split into equal pieces amonst the group and they each can have an immunity or spell.psi-like ability. Or the mark since it is alive would jump from host to host amonst the PCs.

also the mark is
a crawling tattoo that chooses its host and stays until the host dies or is useless.
the "useless" means incapcitated where he will never be able to adventure again.

work it in as the 16th forgotten god from the goblin tribes. This god is even menionted in source material (faiths of eberron).

Any place within the core campaign setting -- i.e. the Five Nations of Khorvaire -- is really, really firmly touched by the religion of the Sovereign Host. A religion needs a very strong reason to resist -- to be based in some especially reclusive, xenophobic or trodden-upon culture -- to not be subsumed into the Host religion, or else take on an identity as a religion of the Dark Six in opposition to the Host.

This guy, for instance, sounds like he could be easily retconned into being a particular local legend about a dark aspect of the Traveller.

However, in general the whole idea of having class levels for this guy, giving him an objective power level relative to the other gods, and having him "come back" after an absence sounds very Forgotten Realms and very un-Eberron to me. Eberron isn't about literally existing gods screwing around playing politics with each other and using their class abilities.
