| redscizor07-09-07, 11:19 PM | it was thinking about warforged artificier, the weapons were damaged and thought to castear to them to repair ligth damage but then i can make inflict damage in magicals weapons? already that the description of the infusion is for construct but can to extend to all type of objects?? |
| kentonblack07-09-07, 11:39 PM | sorry, but, i dont think i completely understand your question. if you are asking if the inflict/repair light damage spells affect objects(such as weapons and armor) then yes, they do in fact damage or heal the hitpoints of objects like your +1flaming longsword. |
| redscizor07-10-07, 12:05 AM | yes it is me question i can use inflict/repair damage to damage/heal one weapon say +1flaming longsword or admantine full plate +1 ? in the case if i use in magic weapons is necessary ST of will?? i think cure/infligth wounds |

So yes, they get a saving throw. |
| SpaceHopper07-20-07, 02:12 PM | I'm reading the ECS now, and the inflict and repair spells all have "Target: Construct Touched" How are they able to affect objects? Is there an errata or update somewhere i've missed? |
| ArcTan07-22-07, 07:31 AM | The repair spells do *not* affect objects. Absolutely not. Of course, a lot of people seem to have been confused about this, including at times the game designers. (People have remarked on the fact that Artificers are apparently able to magically repair constructs but not mundane objects and argued for therefore making mending and make whole into infusions.) Also, neither inflict damage nor repair damage allow saves. |
| Fabius Maximus07-22-07, 08:44 AM | The repair spells do *not* affect objects. Absolutely not. Which, somehow, makes no sense. It repairs damage. By all accounts, it should be possible to repair objects with it. |
| ArcTan07-22-07, 05:16 PM | Which, somehow, makes no sense. It repairs damage. By all accounts, it should be possible to repair objects with it. Damage to constructs is not the same thing as damage to objects. Damaging a construct just means disrupting whatever process makes the construct "live". Damaging an object means sundering the object into two or more pieces. These are different concepts. A Warforged corpse will still be intact after you kill the Warforged -- you must then do damage to the *corpse*, which will have a certain hardness and HP based on its composition, in order to "destroy" the corpse (i.e. dismember it). Again, two different concepts. |
