Khorvairan kobold clergy [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-04-07, 07:49 PM So... I'm wondering about Khorvairan kobold clerics and their religion.

Irvhir seem like most of their clerics can be straightforwardly treated as clerics of the Cult of the Dragon Below.

Irsvern, if they do exist, seem a bit more complicated. They seem like they'd be worshippers of Syberis, but "cleric of Syberis" is not really analogous to "cleric of Khyber" in Eberron. Cleric of Khyber has a very specific meaning, with specific domains, alignment, favored weapon, etc. Cleric of Syberis, on the other hand, is a sort of generic term term for all clerics who don't fit a pre-established mold, whether they actually think about the Dragon Above or not. Of course, whether Irsvern even exist is unclear, so it needn't come up.

Iredar, who seem like the most likely candidates for PC kobolds, also seem to be the most confounding religiously, in terms of their clergy. They worship Eberron -- something that gives them a druidic tradition, but as far as clergy go, it's unclear. One could say that their clerics are "druid-esque clerics" -- i.e., clerics with domains like animal, plant, weather, elements, etc.

Thoughts?

08-04-07, 08:10 PM Irsvern I think would be quite fun to play, although personally I'd want to be a ranger and take the winged feats. Anyway, it shouldn't be too hard to extrapolate domains and religions based around Eberron and Siberys from Khyber's domains and religion, but I'll leave that up to someone that's in the mood to look up domains to construct.

08-05-07, 11:44 AM Alternatively, the Kobold clergy could be primarily sorcerers. There's an issue of Dragon out there with sorcerer variants relating to the three Progenitor dragons.

08-05-07, 01:12 PM The Kobolds could probably also worship the "regular" deities of Eberron as well.

I don't see any reason why a Kobold or group of Kobolds couldn't worship The Sovereign Host, The Dark Six, The Dragon Below, or The Silver Flame.

The Irsvern actually fit the Dragon Above description (which is midly broken, but fits them well) if you want to make a "Dragon Above" Cleric, they can have any domain they choose, but they have domains that fit there personality, either at the begining or end of religion (where they give a short blurb about each deity) in ECS, they talk about Siberys as a deity. So even though it is a little unfair to be able to randomly pick domains to get power, it would be a way, just think "The sky is the limit" with Siberys so you can do whavtever you want.

As for the Iredar, I would pick Domains that come from either Balinor, Arawai (sp? and I think that is the deity I am thinking of... the harvest one), and either the Devourer or Fury (which ever one is the evil god of nature.) Since Eberron is the world itself, Iredar should have the Nature domians, so I would just find the other "nature" deities and get help from them in choosing.
