It would be a big change, admittedly, but at the same time I think it would make a good source of conflict for a higher level campaign. And, after all, the gap between dragon marks emerging has been over a thousand years before, so it's not like the current time line prohibits it. So, what does everyone think? Will we see a new official dragonmark? What race would get one? Would we see more than one? After all, several of them appeared two to three at a time before. Just curious as to what everyone else thought. |

It doesn't just manifest on a dozen different members of the same race somewhere, it's almost a genetic trait. So how do you plan to have this new mark become apparent? |

Adding another dragonmark would be advancing the metaplot. They said they would only flesh out the now, they're not going to resort to moving the time frame forwards, which was one of the things that helped ruin the Forgotten Realms. |
| TiwazTyrsfist07-24-07, 04:13 PM | Well, the main thing that would indicate this was a true mark and not a new varient of abberant mark is appearance. Two people, of the same race, with a dragaonmark that looks identicle, manifesting the same or similar powers. I'm currently writing up the first part of an adventure involving a fake 'new' dragonmarked house, which is why I've been thinking about this a lot lately. The fakes are a group of abberant marked orcs with fire powers using a varient version of the disguise dragonmark spell (or whatever it's called from the Dragonmarked book) to make their marks appear the same (but different from the true marks). No, because it has been stated that the Eberron metaplot will *NOT* advance. Adding another dragonmark would be advancing the metaplot. They said they would only flesh out the now, they're not going to resort to moving the time frame forwards, which was one of the things that helped ruin the Forgotten Realms. Ah, that's an excellent point. I had in fact forgotten about that. Well, okay then. I'll just have to make one up for my own advancing story line. |
