Leonidus 03-12-07, 02:29 AM	Actually, with a bit of adaptation, I could see a few vestiges of archetypal Tairnadal ancestors. (since the original idea hinges on the idea of actual ascended gods and these vestiges as near-gods, tweaking the concept is somewhat required what with the concept of unknown deities.) There's probably more ideas along this line, but it'd take some thought.

I've already decided to make Tenebrous a rakshasa rajah that went around messing with the planes with the Final Word in the Age of Demons, obviously taking out the Primus on Daanvi. He then died, then reconstituted itself in the Prime Material, weaker but still godlike.... then was imprisoned by the coatl and the Binding Flame. :B So we've got a vestige wanting to be real -and- a rakshasa rajah manipulating a Cult of the Dragon Below in order to free itself.

Failed ascended deities? half-dead Outsiders? Artificial constructs formed by the Binder's mind as she shapes magical energies? Pact Magic could be a big riddle without an actual answer...

Well, sure. The mysteriousness of the vestiges is an integral part of their flavor. The religions of Eberron (especially the Silver Flame) might even suspect that the Vestiges are actually an illusion created by the Raja who's truly lending its power to Binders. However, nobody's really arguing that they shouldn't remain mysterious. That doesn't change the fact that their stories are extremely non-Eberron specific, including many overt mention of active Greyhawkian gods. The adaptations people were suggesting were largely aimed at giving them Eberron-specific flavor, even if their Vestige stories aren't actually *true*.
