I'm trying to connect a minor form of this effect to a psionic power that an NPC will posses, but I'm not familiar enough with psionics (or the supplements, which I don't have) to find something suitable. Telempathic Projection causing hostility over a wide area would suffice, but I don't see a "mass" effect. Death urge seems like overkill. Is there anything suitable I'm not seeing, or in a supplement? Thanks. |

Not having a dungeon magazine subscription, I warped the Savage Tide idea to fit with the Du'rashka Tul, and decided that Demogorgon is an aspect of a rajah who wants to prevent civilization from re-emerging on Xendrik for reasons relating to the power of the Flame's binding on his 'real' body. The mechanic I would use (this is a campaign I've done a lot of prep for but not had occasion to run yet) is Taint from Heroes of horror. Exposure to the tainted dragonshards and a few other sources gradually causes depravity (mental taint) to build up, until the depravity exceeds teh limit allowed by the sufferer's wisdom, at which time the sufferer becomes a tainted raver (template from Heroes of Horror: essentially the person becomes permanently berserk and homocidal, though retaining just enough rationality to cast spells etc.). |
