| Thadir05-27-07, 08:20 PM | Whith the Magic of Eberron book. The Inspired and Kalastar gaind a few new Embedded shards. Now maybe becouse my english isnt that good, or just the fact I dont understaind it but this Shard makes a Psion a bit to powerfull. In the Eberron campain I am a Kalastar Psion Shaper lvl 9 with for of these power stones. Me and the DM got a bit scared when I used the shards at my max. Meaning I augmented Astral Construct to 9 from my class level and used the 8 power points from the Power Link shards to make it a total of 17 powerpoints were I could place a 9TH-LEVEL ASTRAL CONSTRUCT thats scary with the correct feat (like Boost construct) you can make havvoc for 9 rounds. Also other powers who are Augmentable get a lot scaryer. Ok its 3 times a day per shard. But that can be all the inportaint battles. As far as I can tell one can only have up to the class level of these shards. Now my qwestion is is it me or are these things realy over powerd? Or am I missing somting? |

The problem is the exact discriptor is messing me up and I qoute a bit from page 115 from magic of ebberon. When you draw upon a powerlink, the pwer you manifest is augmented by 2 power points (beyond any augmentation you provided from youw own power point reserve). This augmentation can result in more power points invesed in the power than you have levels. Each additional implanted power link shard you draw on increases the augmentation by an additional 2 power points. Becouse the text is so explisid in the fact you can go above level its confusing me. Becouse with this and no limitations on it you can have a scary psion. |
| ChimericalWolf05-30-07, 06:57 PM | Yay for searching, cause I found the original thread (that I started) that has a fairly official response. http://boards1.wizards.com/wotc_archive/index.php/t-521212 The thing to look for is WotC_Shoe near the end of the thread. |
| Thadir05-31-07, 03:34 AM | Thanks ill show it to my DM, I was realy scared there that my char was getting to powerfull. Thanks for the peapol that search this is the answer in the tread pointed out. The entry for the power link has an error. It should say: "This augmentation cannot result in more power points invested in the power than you have levels." It was not intended to be free augmentation -- but instead effectively +6 pp/day. This has been submitted as errata. |
