| Goemoe02-09-07, 04:29 AM | one dragonmarked house some day discovers, the dragonmark of all heirs vanished over night, or some days. The impact on Khorvaire would be very interesting. Fear of other houses, they could be the next, to loose their mark. Arcanix and The Twelve would explode in activity to understand what is happening. All the secret organisations trying to take advantage of the chaos in many places of Khorvaire. Perhaps some members of the chamber coming to investigate... What do you think? |
| The White Sorcerer02-09-07, 08:42 AM | Even though the House in question would lose the use of dragonmark focus items and such, it would propably survive due to the monopoly the house guilds have. |
| Cifer02-09-07, 09:18 AM | Depends on the house I'd say - Lyrandar and Orien would suffer massive problems in their own operations (no dragonmarks -> no way to harness elementals), as would Cannith (a good deal of their machines can only be used by heirs). Deneith and Kundarak, on the other hand side, would have only little problems since they don't seem to rely on their marks that much anyway. |
| Just another user02-09-07, 06:05 PM | Depending on the house there could be some serious repercussion in all korvhaine. Sivis- no comunication network, or at least a drop in efficiency. orien - no lightining road Jorasco- a drastic cut in healing everywhere and healing item production Cannithproduction would drop, expecially that of magic items. and so on for all the others. |
| Artector02-09-07, 10:34 PM | Denieth would lose some business, not a lot, but some. Ghallanda still has inns. Depends on the exact nature of the missing marks too. I'd like it better if the Heirs couldn't utilize them anymore. The Dragons I'm sure would be in an uproar, the Prophecy and all that. |
| Grummush_Rogue03-01-07, 08:54 PM | First! all houses come together to kill the markless house. Second! houses may band together and abandon magic or persue other fields ie evocation Third! Hell literally springs forth on the world. :OMG! |

| Kreistor203-08-07, 01:07 PM | Certainly there would be agencies trying to figure out the disappearance of the mark. The House would not come crashing down, but as time passes, the House, having lost its natural advantage in its marketplace, would gradually lose control of the guilds to naturally talented individuals from the normal community. I don't think its possible for a power like a House to have the wolves descend on it quickly (or, at the very least, they'd be able to stave off the first few attempts from sheer momentum). A smart House leader would understandt he inevitable and negotiate the descent of the House to normal status willingly, in order to retain some advantages as long as possible. |

What is it about it that you don't like? /just asking/ I like the Dragonmarks, I just think it'd be better if in this scenario the marks were simply denied to their bearers, not that they've just disappeared. At least I think that's what I meant when I wrote that. |
