I ask this because I am contemplating building a cleric that worships the host in its "original intent and form" and I love this class which would fit so well in to how I see my character. I know I need to ask my DM about this but if I come to him with good strong arguements for it he will be more inclined to allow it. |

As long as you give a reasonable backstory explanation, i.e You were raised under the original, pre-Schism Pantheon, and don't know that others don't think of them the same way. You may want to talk to him about working out a way to have them interact. I know there's been some talk of a Speaker of the Six/ True Host Speaker PrCs, where there's a Sovereign Speaker for the Dark Six, and One for both of them. Just realize that neither side is going to like you, and You'll probably have to be neutral. |

Also, GNOMES, gnomes tend to be much more eclectic and intellectual in there approach to religion and distant theologies. A gnome who 'read' about this historical viewpoint might take up such a theological attitude. If gnomes can resolve the silver flame with the host, why not this. |

It would make for an interesting backstory, but I would think that mechanically you were looking for a loophole around the SS class features concerning extra domains since you'd have six extra gods to worship. Definitiely worth chatting over with your DM. |
| korcheck03-31-07, 01:20 AM | Actually, what I have invisioned was a sort of backwoods cleric from possibly eldeen or the shadow marches. the Idea came to me from reading the first few pages of both the dark six and the sovreign host chapters in which it describes this theory about the schizm as being a civilization vs nature rather than good vs evil. The first page of the dark six chapter speaks of the commoners while maybe not worshipping both aspects at least praying to both as warrented such as a fighter worshipping dol arrah? and also praying to his counter part to keep treachery at bay. So my thought was if it is civilization vs nature then wouldn't a priest from one of these areas being influenced by druids see it as a necessity to give worship to both side? It also speek of many of the less civilized areas seeing this same view (heavily paraphrased). I believe. |
