| Alac_Gane08-14-07, 02:10 AM | I know there were things written in the Explorer's Handbook about treasures and magical items that could be found in the ruins of Duur'sharrat and elsewhere, but if I recall correctly, there were few items that were very powerful. I'm talking about artifacts and crazy stuff. Feel free to add things other than items that may have withstood the tests of time (about 30,000-10,000 years). 1. A cube covered in draconic runes that was found during the war between goblins and elves and was kept safe. An elven warlord had this item during a battle between Valenar and the Dhakaani in order to test its use, but lost it after a vicious defeat. The cube can point towards the location of beings with strong demonic or magical influence, and can continually target a being that it has begun pointing towards by pressing a facet of the cube. Each facet can remember a different target until a command word is spoken to erase the target. |

A clock. Specifically an arcano-mechanical clock that still keeps accurate time despite the centuries it languished at the bottom of lake Brey. Not only does the clock tell conventional time, it also keeps track of certain astronomical events and planar convergences. According to the clock, Mabar, Dolurrh, and Risia are all supposed to become coterminous at some point in the, apparently, near future. However, the writing on the clock has not been fully deciphered and the exact date of this event is unclear. 4. An engraved metal trunk depicting the making of wine. When opened, the trunk is discovered to contain 18 bottles of saule (Dhakaani red wine) which have been preserved by the enchantments worked upon the trunk itself. |
| Alac_Gane08-15-07, 01:12 AM | 5. The REAL reason why the orcs and the goblins were fighting: the gatekeepers were looking to destroy or stave the forecoming of a rajah that was entombed within a powerful form of the stasis spell cast by a dragon (or group of dragons) in the Age of Demons. Its final resting place laid beneath Duur'sharrat for millennia before the great goblin empire was established; during its construction, the goblin lords felt a great urge to dig deeper and deeper into the earth, until they came across the glowing, crystal-like rock that held a bejeweled and fair-robed being... And made a giant shrine to it that never saw the light of day. |
| Tolly724908-15-07, 01:39 AM | 6 and 7: Two halves of a strangely opaque crystal ball. One half glows vaguely green in darkness - even magical darkness - and when the command word is spoken it shows the bearer any emotionally-charged event that happened in the place. The other half glows blood-red and, when the command word is spoken, shows any future emotionally-charged event that will involve the bearer in that place. Nobody knows what will happen if the two halves are united and repaired. |
| goblin_pride08-22-07, 07:50 PM | 8. A crude-looking clay globe etched with the Dhakaani name of Gre'naad that detonates when the name is spoken and the clay cracks. (goblin grenadiers? hehehe) |

(goblin grenadiers? hehehe) Hahahaha! That's a good one! XD 9. Beneath the still-standing archways of goblin architecture, there was something special that was hidden away just in case the great city was attacked. At the push of a button, the archways begin to shift... between each of the arches, a large leg reaches out and connects to the ceiling. After an arduous, loud, and questionably inefficient manner, the arches have suddenly become a spidery automaton of a defender! |
| hecknoshow08-23-07, 10:35 AM | 9 ideas in and nobodys mentioned any chain weapons. For shame.....:D 10 Fal Menir (Wolf Bite) +3 aberation bane Dire flail A relic from the Daelkyr war, it is belived to have been the weapon of a famous Goblin ranger Known as ''Gril menir'' or wolf rider in the common tongue. Both heads on the flail are shaped like growling wolf heads. |
| Ohtar Turinson08-23-07, 12:13 PM | 11. An eight foot tall statue of a hobgoblin general, frozen midswing... with all inorganic equipment completely intact. Used in my game, found (along with an entire legion of transformed goblinoids) in the Lair of the Keeper. The party used stone shape to remove him without damaging him and sold him at auction along with other recovered artifacts, netting over a million gold pieces for the entire auction. (Yeah, the campaign was ending soon... why the hell not?) 12. The sword was a +4 Large Axiomatic Speed Greatsword named Graz'a'tuk Naan'akh (Titan's Wrath) |
| Nightshade08-23-07, 12:38 PM | 13. The Helm of Dhakaan +4 enhancement bonus to Cha Wearer acquires the Leadership feat, so long as the helm remains in their possession. Bearer must be a Goblinoid to obtain the bonus and feat. |
| DwarfPcfan08-24-07, 11:49 AM | 14- simple, used up plush toy the Squeeks when squeezed. Strangely, frightened adventurers have reported that somehow the toy seems to protect the wearer from harm... A cookie to anyone who get's where I got that one:) |

| Nerdicus08-24-07, 03:55 PM | 15- An aged leather helmet that fits very snuggly over the wearers head. The helmet has a face mask that resembles a wolf snout and ear slots. It grants the wearer the scent ability 3/day, and a +10 to spot and listen checks. Various sizes have been known to be found. 16- a composite short bow with strange pullies and movable parts. The bow grants the user a +4 to attack and damage when used while mounted. It otherwise functions like a +2 composite shortbow mstwk. It also sports some spikes that can be used as a melee weapon dealing 1d6+1 piercing damage.(I used this one in a solo game. I have a cool drawing of it, but alas I have no scanner...) |
