Xen'Drik. Take the letters and shuffle them around. It's only one off from Hendrix. As in Jimmy. Whatcha think the odds are it was inspired accordingly?

Probably just coincidence, but I did have to laugh at the name "Sharn". If you ever see Ralph Bakshi's "Wizards", Sharn is the name of the leader of the fairies that captured Avatar, Weehawk, Eleanor, and Peace. I couldn't believe the little guy got a metropolis named after him!

Yeah, but Sharn the fairy was cuter. Hee hee! I can just picture this black oozy thing talking to Avatar and co. when the shot in the scene rips into "Sharn". Instead of cutting him off mid-sentence, it just gets it angry. It turns around to the where the shot came from and hisses "Assssssassssssinnnnssssssss!" and prepares for a snack.

not really unusual. "Drows" is "sword" backwards, and lots of times when I run a campaign I take names, put them backwards, and tweak them.

Dude, you're sounding like Gary (Gygax, that is)!

Cheers, LT.

Cheers, LT.Lol, yeah, its an age old technique. Spell just about anything backwards, and it turns into a fantasy name.

G'nithy'na

There, see? Its anything backwards, and it already sounds like an organization for the Gith. :)

-In a campaign I was in, our tour guild, Nogardama annihilated half of my party when she turned on us. It was so obvious, if only we thought about it...

I DM'ed a character named Korangar in one (homebrew) game. The player used this technique and didn't think I knew it. The game went epic (why is it that random pick-up games do that?) and they found themselves dealing with a plot between gods to rule/destroy the universe. The PCs wasted many sessions seeking the "Chosen One" who would end it all...
