| OgreBane9908-13-07, 04:53 PM | I'm curious to see how other DMs have used the City of Making in their campaigns. I plan to send my party there to visit the House Kundarak Vaults to obtain some needed information. I plan on having the City of Making primarlily occupied by warforged, but I'm looking for any information about the city or some interesting places I can put in the adventure. I've searched the boards here and come up with nothing, as well as checked all my Eberron books, but there's no details on the City of Making. |
| OgreBane9908-14-07, 04:36 PM | :bump: Anyone at all? :( Just some basic ideas on what exactly my party might see in the City of Making. What would it look like? Who or what would they encounter? Etc. |
| johnandrehart08-14-07, 07:21 PM | Where is the city of making? And what is it's significance? |
| OgreBane9908-14-07, 08:30 PM | In central Cyre (Mournland). Was the headquarters for House Cannith before the Day or Mourning. Supposedly the start or "ground zero" of the Mourning. |
| OctaviusIII08-15-07, 09:27 PM | Hmmm.... factory town, eh? Magical industry? Mournlands? Warforged? Could be fun. It's a walled city. In the center, towers rise into the grey mist, but for the most part, Making is warehouses. A massive port along the river (or canal, if it's not near a river) lies unused, and its containers are empty. Some of the locked containers might contain something, but some of those sound like there's something alive inside. (As the party approaches, horrible noises and banging come from inside.) Eldritch machines are everywhere, allowing magewrights and artificers to pool their talents to make items no single caster could. As well, there are factories for all kinds of things: blacksmiths, buttonmakers, shoemakers, and anything else you can imagine. The towers in the center of the city contained the bureaucracy of Cannith: management for the house and the city, training centers for magewrights, artificers, and mundane wrights, and a large bazaar to support traders and residents alike. This is also where the upper class of the city lived. Warforged have set up shop in one corner, although whether they are followers of the Lord of Blades is questionable: they've made at least that corner of the city bloom a little, and the city parks are full of freshly-dug graves, presumably for those that died in the city. Not many are aware of it, but beneath the city is a magical research station, and the first creation forge. Living spells happen to like it down there, for whatever reason, and there seems to always be a whistling wind blowing through the corridors. |
