| Revvecor09-24-07, 11:59 PM | Here is my try at the demographics of Cyre (pre-Mourning). Given the demographics of the other major nations and how the citizens seem to come from the surrounding nations, I assumed a similar deviation of races; Cyre-population 2,280,000 (Humans 47%, Elves 10%, Halflings 10%, Half-Orcs 10%, Half-Elves 8%, Orcs 5%, Gnomes 2%, Changelings 1%, Dwarves 1%, Warforged 1%, Other 5%) |

First, you have two many Orcs and Half-Orcs. Besides from the fact that Half-Orcs are supposed to be pretty rare on eberron, i can't think of any mention of Orcs living in Cyre. Second, I think there should be more Dwarfs and Gnomes and less Elves and Halflings. Both Dwarfs and Gnomes are rather big players in civilized Khorvaire, while "urban" Elves and Halflings are relativly less prominent. Taking this in mind I think the racial demographics should look a bit more like this: 49% Humans, 11% Half-Elves, 9% Elves, 8% Dwarfs, 8% Gnomes, 6% Halflings, 3% Goblinoids, 2% Changelings, 1% warforged, 3% others. |

Knock the dwarves up a notch and the changelings down one (bam!) and I think that's just about right. Also: yeah, half-orcs are incredibly rare - see my sig for details. |
| Revvecor09-25-07, 10:02 PM | I concede that the half-orcs and orc stats were to high, and I neglected the goblinoids. The percents I used for the different races had to do with the proximity to the bordering nations. The elves should have a high percentage given the warbands strafing the ongoing battle throughout Cyre before its destruction. My reasoning for the inclusion of relatively large amounts of none humans is based on my view of the former capital of Galfar being like Rome during the hight of the roman empire. By this I mean that every race from within former Galfar would exist in mass within Cyre borders as a giant melting pot of culture and culture. The reason I only have a single percent of the population being dwarves is that I have always assumed that they resided in many mountains areas (not cities), although I seem the be the minority in this case. |
