we all know and love/hate Erandis D'Vol but why is she called D'vol?

i'm not sure but is seems quiet likely that the D' prefix was agreed on either after the war of the mark or as part of the korth edicts.
if that is true then there is no reason for erandis to have the D' prefixs in her last.

am i right here or am i missing somthing? and if i am right why is the prefix there?

She updated her name to fit the times.

I doubt anyone in-game would ever call her Erandis d'Vol, anyway. She probably gets all sorts of appelations in place of her name: the Lady of Death, Queen of Death, the Lich Queen, Lady Vol, or whatever.

Her followers that are "in the know" might properly refer to her with the " d'Vol " title. I doubt they have the temerity to address her by name, though. They probably use all manner of regal titles in addressing her.

I doubt many (outside of her Aereni enemies, the dragons, and her inner circle) even know she is Erandis Vol, last "surviving" member of the line of Vol of Aerenal, bearer of the Mark of Death. Aside from those groups, I'd think only King Kaius even knows she exists, and it's unclear whether he has fully discerned her true identity.

I'm more concerned with the d'Oh line, I'm hearing about them all over the internet but I don't see any powers worthwhile ... I mean, "Harm Self 1/day" seems pretty weak ...

Here's Hellcow shutting me down (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=11855084&postcount=72) when I questioned him on his use of d'Vol.
