Perhaps I would of been wiser to ask if anyone had already done this first, because I have wasted a lot of time on it today already, and my results add up to over 102%, but they are accurate enough for discussion at least.

Total Population of Khorvaire = 15621000

Human = 49.95%
Dwarf = 9.27%
Half-Elf = 8.24%
Gnome = 6.98%
Halfling = 6.33%
Elf = 5.59%
Orc = 4.94%
Undefined = 3.79%
Goblin = 2.89%
Changeling = 1.69%
Hobgoblin = 1.50%
Shifter = 1.06%
Demon = 0.96%
Undefined Goblinoid = 0.95%
Lizardfolk = 0.77%
Kobold = 0.71%
Bugbear = 0.67%
Gnoll = 0.64%
Half-Orc = 0.30%
Warforged = 0.01%

Almost 25 khoravar for every half-orc... Kobolds are barely more numerous than bugbears and gnolls! And I still think 1.69% is way, WAY too many changelings, especially when half-orcs are so low. I mean, can you imagine how paranoid you would be if almost 1 in 50 people could change their appearance at will?

I don't like changelings in general--they are very, very rare on the ground in my campaign. I also think that that's a lot of half-elves.

That also means that there are only 1,562 warforged, which doesn't quite jive with the fluff.

Your figures are off by 149,000 and change for just the goblins taking into account only the Shadow Marches, Breland, Droaam and Darguun. I'd say an error of that size looking at just four of the twelve nations means that the overall breakdown has to be incorrect. I'm using just the ECS, so if there are better breakdowns of population somewhere else, please let me know.

Well it kinda makes sense when you consider the fact that changelings are a race that breeds true while half-orcs, more often than not, result from human/orc pairings.

Goblinoids = Breland (4% 3,700,000) = 148,000 = 0.95%

Goblins = Darguun (39% 800,000) + Droaam (18% 500,000) + Shadow Marches (10% 500,000) = 312,000 + 90,000 + 50,000 = 452,000 = 2.89%

Hobgoblins = Darguun (29% 800,000) + Valenar (5% 70,000) = 232,000 + 3500 = 235,500 = 1.51%

Bugbears = Darguun (13% 800,000) = 104,000 = 0.67%

So, my hobgoblins were off by 0.01% because I read a 5 as a 3 in my original notes on Valenar.

What goblinoids exactly am I to take into consideration that are NOT in Breland, Darguun, Droaam, Shadow Marches and Valenar? Those are the only nations that give a % of population as goblinoids, and every nation adds up to 100%. The only other place they could appear is in the Undefined, which I included in my numbers, and an awful lot of things appear in the undefined (including 38% of Droaam).

I made a spreadsheet after screwing up the calculations the first time (the OP contains my second set of calculations). I'll check it for inconsistencies tomorrow at the latest. I spent too much time on this yesterday as it is.

Goblinoids = Breland (4% 3,700,000) = 148,000 = 0.95%

Goblins = Darguun (39% 800,000) + Droaam (18% 500,000) + Shadow Marches (10% 500,000) = 312,000 + 90,000 + 50,000 = 452,000 = 2.89%

You forgot to add the 0.95% in Breland to the 2.89% in the other three. 3.84% would get the 600,000 that I came up with for a goblin population from the four with a sizable minority in the ECS. It would also add an additional percentage to the overall that was at 102% before, if I recall the error margin in the first post.

Why would I add the 0.95% from Breland to the other three? The whole point is that we don't *know* the breakup of goblinoids in Breland, so we can't actually assign the proper amounts to each of the three sub-races. Goblinoids doesn't mean goblins, it means the combination of goblins, hobgoblins and bugbears.

Total goblinoids for Khorvaire is easy: 148,000 + 452,000 + 235,500 + 104,000 = 939,500 = 6.01%

Would you look at that, it does say goblinoids. My apologies, it was my error.
