Euangelion 07-02-07, 11:33 PM	Just how old is Blood Regent Diani of Thrane? Her father Erivon became Blood Regent in 945, at which time he could have been as young as 20 or so. He died in 988, which means at the least he was 63 or so, but could have been older. That means that Diani as the oldest (living) scion became Blood Regent, but she could be as old as 40 or so. If she is that old, it would seem that she's reaching the limits of her childbearing years. But the question remains, does she have children? The comments about Otherro seem to indicate that she is not married, but that doesn't mean she has no children. An indirect piece of evidence that she has children is the presence of Gaius of Karrnath, as it would seem to be unlikely that Kaius would send Gaius without a fair exchange, meaning a child of Diani (or perhaps of a High Cardinal?) Otherro himself had to have been at least 20-25 in 961, meaning he's about 50 years old himself. I think this is evidence that she's probably closer to 40 than 30, but that's certainly not definitive. Of course, since Erivon was very active in the war, perhaps he married late and thus Diani is younger than might be expected at first. The other possibility is that she is not the eldest scion, that one or more siblings were older but died in one way or another. So, how old is Diani, and does she have children?
Nived 07-04-07, 11:14 AM	Uh, my dad is 63 and I'm 24 so you know... 20-40 however old you want to make her. I'd put her around 30ish myself.
