I thought that the warforged where created around 965 YK during the Last War as a creation that woul help end the war in the creators advantage of course. So when where warforged created? during or before the last war?

Actually, the warforged were created during the war (they had several generations leading up to the "modern" 'forged, so a specific point of time will be hard to find) as a creation that would help fill the pockets of their creators, since those were from House Cannith who supplied them to all participants in the war willing to pay. Edit: I read the specific section now - reading the whole text helps. Jarot commissioned Cannith to develop a cheap and intelligent construct to serve as warriors, but when they were developed, the Last War already had begun and so they were sold to everyone.

If I recall correctly weren't the Titans one of the earlier attempts to build constructs meant for war?

Goblin pride: The Titans did take first attempts in making such constructs and in my point of view they succeeded as well, but that knowledge was lost in the course of history. King Jarot commisioned Cannith to make warforged again. Probably after ancient texts found on Xen'drick and maybe even schema's taht where used for the creation of them.

Actually, that were the Giants. The (warforged) titans were constructs, predecessors of the modern warforged. They were not yet living constructs. King Jarot commisioned Cannith to make warforged again. Probably after ancient texts found on Xen'drick and maybe even schema's taht where used for the creation of them. King Jarot probably just said "I want an army of cheap and tireless soldiers - and I don't want undead, thank you, Ms Vol." The Warforged schemas were probably discovered by Cannith expeditions of Xen'Drik
