| larry_the_titan05-05-07, 10:50 AM | Ok, I have read a lot of Eberron but have seen no mention of kobolds anywhere. Did they get left out of the setting? Have I missed them in my books? Do they need me to give them a place in Eberron? If I need to give them a Place do you Guys have any ideas where to put them or should just leave them out? |
| Bluebrush05-05-07, 10:58 AM | Tah-da~! (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebds/20050321a) |
| Hideous Phidias05-05-07, 10:59 AM | Simple answer is they are every where. Like always kobolds have small colonies anywhere they can get away with them. But that said they are big as slave labor in Darguun or in tribes in Droaan under the sisters control. |
| Ardent05-05-07, 10:05 PM | Actually, the highest level arcane spellcaster in Stormreach is a Kobold (implicitly so, despite whatever level the PC arcanists might be). They seem to be fairly well-established on both continents, if rare. |
| Nived05-05-07, 11:24 PM | They're not rare at all if you play DDO. Stormreach is swarming with them. |
| korcheck05-07-07, 01:11 PM | There is a small blurb in RoD that talks about them being two seperate tribes/clans (and I use the terms loosely) one mostly good, one mostly evil the differences are in a scent only they know and can smell the good ones worship the preginitor eberron the evil ones worship Khyber and a rumored flying clan worships syberis (sp?). they also don't come from dragons but were formed from the blood spill in the beginning by said preginitors. |
| larry_the_titan05-28-07, 05:33 PM | Thx folks. |
| tallric_kruush05-28-07, 10:44 PM | They are given as a potential adventure hook in Zilargo. See ECS p.213 Even more to your liking will be the Dragonshards article: "The Kobolds of Khorvaire". I've linked it below. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebds/20050321a |
| Roger Nicholls05-29-07, 03:14 AM | I used Kobolds in Sharn as a street gang operating from the lower levels. Having said that though i dont see why you wouldnt find them all over the continent. I always think of them as a resourceful race that is underused IMO. Regards... |
| Adamaro2305-29-07, 03:21 AM | I play in an all Kobold game, our tribe, clan, army whatever is from the mountain range on the edge of Q'barra. We have an abandoned keep as our base where our tribe lives. |

Character classes etc would be good to know. Regards... |
| Adamaro2305-29-07, 09:43 AM | That sounds like a really neat idea - would you be willing to share some of the things you guys get up to ? Character classes etc would be good to know. Regards... sure, just ask. Our group consists of: Kobold Wizard (more commonly refered to as The Elder) Kobold Ranger (Krova the All-Watcher, the leader of our kobold nation) Kobold Cleric of Kurtulmak (sp?) Kobold Artificer Kobold whatever based off of the Book of Nine swords (he was an elf reincarnated as a kobold, so he doesn't think like us) And just to make it a more Kobold feel, whenever there were kobold sub levels we took em', plus wizard's familiar, and Ranger's pet are Dire Weasels. For missions: 1.We've united kobolds as a small nation under the name of the All-Watcher. 2. Helped nearby towns from raids to gain trust from them. 3.Made a tunnel 15 miles long to escort refugees to our keep for them to live. 4.Funded a small town where Kobold and Kalashtar can live in peace (our keep) 5. Checked out a manifestation zone connected to Fernia. 6. Sneaked our way through Droam. 7. We currently take orders from a dragon who shows himself to us in Khorvaire, we run around and do "small" errands for him. 8. Our wizard has devoted time to the Draconic Prophecy, and is obsessed. 9.Battled the Inspired, and the Order of the Emerald Claw. All in all it's been alot of fun, i'm the artificer in the group. Oh and we get around pretty fast, our DM gave us Dragonhawks. Large-sized hawks that we use as mounts. Any other questions? just ask :) |
| Roger Nicholls05-30-07, 12:06 AM | Thanks for sharing this - it sounds like a great campaign. I might try something like this myself at some point. Regards... |
| korcheck05-30-07, 10:43 AM | In my campaign I had the PC's protect a half company of kobold sappers while they collapsed one of Sharns towers to create a bottle neck against the demons invading said city. |
| deatonjr06-01-07, 02:55 AM | This was already mentioned, but one of the powerful supporting characters in "The Shattered Land" by Keith Baker is a Kobold. |
| tallric_kruush06-02-07, 01:57 PM | They are given as a potential adventure hook in Zilargo. See ECS p.213 Even more to your liking will be the Dragonshards article: "The Kobolds of Khorvaire". | Flinx5806-25-07, 03:06 AM | I'm not currently playing in an Eberron campaign, but I am playing a Kobold Artificer. Something i thought should have been added was the Kobold Artificer racial substitution levels somewhere. (web enhancement anyone?) I took the Chameleon Creature template from Underdark (gives hide bonuses, climb bonuses, movement, and a 10' touch attack, whcih is good for touch spells). I took the sculpt self feat and started messing around with myself as my own kind of magic item. Kind of like the Grafter from the aberations book, but as an artificer. I modded my tongue to act like a short range grappling hook/zip line (I've been playing Lost Planet on my 360, and I'm convinced that is the most USEFUL item I've had fun with in while), kind of semi prehensile. So I'm small, and have a 10' reach. The party fighter is a bit upset. But then again, he's not a Kobold, so I cant blame him. :D |
| dfarnsworth06-25-07, 03:28 PM | I love kobolds and have not played one in Eberron yet. Besides the listed links can anyone cite sources of information for kobolds in Eberron? |
| korcheck06-26-07, 11:39 AM | theres is a very short blurb in races of the dragon and that is all. as far as I know. |
