| Bluebrush05-18-07, 01:48 PM | Without looking at the map, I'd be inclined to say it's be on the river, or at least connected by canals, since gnomes are commonly known as excellent shipwrights. (Trolanport is built around Canals, like Venice.) That said, just because they're good with boats doesn't mean their major cities would have to be near water. Also, I think the suffix "Berg" might indicate a type of terrain or local feature. Going purely by this Wikitionary (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/berg) entry, I think "berg" might generally be used to describe towns close to a mountain or hill. (Which, itself doesn't rule out being next to water.) |
| OgreBane9905-18-07, 03:13 PM | I made it a port city in my campaign. With the Korranberg library there, it made sense to me that the city would be a port in order to run operations directly from it. |
| Vharuck05-18-07, 04:52 PM | I'd say it's either on a river or in the immediate area of one, but not because the gnomes are famous shipwrights. It's more just a rule of civilization; the biggest towns will either form at a body of water or a crossroads. |
