I read somewhere about the Lady of the Plague and I decided to put her in one of my following adventures. Well, in fact I won't put her in directly, but some extinct followers of her, leaving behind a well-guarded script of her fight against the dragonmarked houses, intended to be found. Not decide dyet, but I'm thinking of even making it a scheme to lead PC's to a hidden shrine of her, where they can be tricked in reviving her in some gruesome fashion, but I'm not 100% sure about the last part.

However, my question is: how much is really known about her?? All I really know is that she wore an abberant dragonmark and was leader of some guild of members with Abberant Dragonmarks opposing the Dragonmarked houses during a time before Sharn was build. At least, I believe this to be the case.

Is there anybody that can confirm this and maybe fill in some more info. Would be really cool if I knew where to look for more ... if there is more.

First, you have to decide on what the truth about her is in your campaign. Was she really an all-powerful aberrant monster that could kill thousands on a whim? Or was she just an ordinary girl, madly in love with Tarkanan, who happened to have an aberrant mark but could do nothing really spectacular?

Once you have that established you can give the PCs some base info - i.e. that she was an all powerful aberrant monster that could kill thousands on a whim. ;) This is what the Dargonmarked Houses have preached since the end of the War of the Mark.

If they are actually right, that's the end of the story - you could give the PCs more details on her appearance, behaviour, background as they dig deeper, but nothing really changes the basic facts.

If, however, you decide to go with the conspiracy theory that says the history of the War of the Mark is a lie produced by the victors, you might start giving little hints that something is not right. First show them little facts that don't quite match in three versions of the story. Her hair colour? The location of the mark on her body? As PCs acquire more texts, preferably older, more accurate versions, they should uncover even more 'mistakes' and finally reach the truth.

I thought that Tarkanan's mark gave him the power of Earthquakes, I mean like destroy old Sharn Earthquake. I would say go with the Dargonmarked houses some what on the bad side of the arguement. Lady in love but also fighting for her life and that of her lover and all the people fighting with them.

If I were you, I'd go with an Heir of Siberys mirror, a PrC that grants one 8th level spell with a Khyber Mark, and make it twice per day at the 3rd level of the 3 level class. That's highly likely what Tarkanan and the Lady had (and will hopefully be in Secrets of Khyber when and if that comes out).

heir of siberys mirror?? What is that and where is info on that??

As for the truth I'm gonna take. The Lady of the Plague will be a woman that had a serious powerfull Abberant Dragonmark. Equal in power as the Syberys dragonmarks, but more destructive. And so did Tarkanan. However, that doesn't mean that they where evil persons. That, in my truth, willbe the conspiracy of the Houses.
I've been checking some books today to see if I could find more about the Lady of teh Palgue, but I couldn't find anything more then what is mentioned in S:CoT and in the PGtE ... and that ain't much.

Is there more info about her? Or are there any of you that have used this person in their campaigns and how did you do that?

Dragonmarked lists some options and ideas for Aberrant Marks.

Dragonmarked has some more info on her. As to the Heir of Siberys-like PrC, that's just something I'd do if I were you. It doesn't exist officially, but it wouldn't be too hard to make.

I think Save vs DM has something like it on his webpage for Eberron

Actually it's just something similar (and in my opinion BETTER now that I look at it again) to the most recent Dragonshard.

Coudl you please post a link to that site so I can check it out. I'm very interested.

The PrC-idea is kinda fun. I might work that out, but for now that's not nesecary. Just looking for some info about her life and ideals. My adventure consists of them finding some old part of SHarn that's been sealed for ages, where they find documents written by the Lady of the Plague to tell people in future times her (or their (read: Abberant Mark wearers)) side of the story about the War of the Mark. This place is protected by means of constructs and even more protected against people with true dragonmarks by means of spells.

And I'll look into the dragonmark-book again. Thxn so far:)

The Children of Khyber can be found here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebds/20070416a). I do think it would be a great thing for the Lady of the Plague to have. Might even be better then a Siberys type PrC for her.

Her power, and Tarkanan's, were above those of Greater Aberrant Marks, that's why I'd peg her for an 8th level effect like Siberys Marks. I like to think of regular Marks as Eberron's domain and the Siberys Mark being the domain of Siberys, and then the Aberrant Marks being corrupted Eberron marks which leaves the possibility for a mirror to the Siberys Mark which would be Khyber's domain.

Thnx for the link. I'll certainly look into it, but I think I'll go towards some sort of Abberant Siberys indeed, because of their tremendous power. Besides that would make a great connection to a future adventure I've planned allready.

The truth in my campaign is that the Abberant marks where just as strong (so including syberys marks) back in the old days, but the houses have won the war of the mark and thus crippled the abberant in the proces. It took centuries fro abberant marks to grow in strength again. In a future adventure I'll have the PC's discover that during the Last War (986YK) their was an Abberant Siberys manifested for a short term, but the wearer got killed on the spot. It's primarily an adventure based on intrigue, conevr-up stories and lots of strong powergroups being part of that event in the past or interested in what happened. It includes, the Hags, Queen Aurala, the Tyrants, King Boranel, The Chamber, and eventually probably some more as well.
So in that case the SIberys-side aligns perfectly with my future plans in the campaign.
