Lightning Rail costs [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-05-07, 06:25 PM It says that riding on the Lightning Rail costs 5sp/mile in FIRST CLASS. How much do you think it should cost if you are traveling coach? Is there an official price?

03-05-07, 08:22 PM This isn't a precise guess, but based on modern air-fare, where economy is roughly 1/3 of business or first class, it might be reasonable to estimate a price of 2sp/mile.

Of course, our economy class is still much more comfortable than what I imagine coach class in Eberron rail to be.
Maybe go lower to 5cp/mile? Assuming that you'd be on bench seating in a carriage with as many other people as can be safely put into it.

Not official, but it would be how I'd estimate it for my game.

03-06-07, 12:32 PM There is an offical price, I think it is 3cp/mi for steerage, according to the Explorer's Handbook. (2 & 5 sp for standard & FC, respectively)
