Ellorin 12-19-07, 05:45 AM	In our campaign Prince Lorrister of the Heavenly Fleet has definitely had no luck. Manipulated by the Inspired and their agents who exploited his (rather foolish in my opinion) idealism and his hatred of the Blood of Vol and their necromantic activities( the dominant faith in the PC's group), he challenged the perceived villains in a naval battle...and lost. His men's casualties were great, his flagship was taken over and all his inner circle of allies slain at the hands of the PCs, including his beloved. Now he's a broken man seeking vengeance (alright, he calls it justice). Now I'm considering the paths he can take...and I would really appreciate the thoughts of the community.Here are some paths I'm considering: He turns to his allies in Q'barra, the chivalrous Order of the White Rose. Officially they are primarily warriors, knights and paladins worshiping the Host or the Silver Flame who decided to adopt a philosophy that emphasises the common ground between their faiths, the common battle against the forces of darkness and the channeling of extraplanar celestial allies. What really takes place, though, is not channeling but possession-the "celestials" actually being quori. After seeing visions and dreams of the guiding "ally", the subject willingly accepts the quori. The whole project is creating Khorvaire's equivalent of the Inspired...and Lorrister will be among the first. He falls all the way, and eventually becomes a blackguard. Desperately searching for help against his enemies, Lorrister finds allies in the form of one of the largest aquatic elf clans who also battle against the Sachuagin, those known vile raiders and worshipers of the Devourer(Lorrister never struck as a man above biases), and the Bloodsails . What he ignores at first is that the elves are ruled by a group of Krakens...and when he does, after some victories against the "vile" sea devils, he actually accepts the guidance of those wise creatures, since THEIR path seems to actually give fruit in the war against evil. Hence, Lorrister the blackguard. Lorrister cannot bear what has transpired and commits suicide...but death is not the end for him. An undead Lorrister will rise, a new Lhazzar horro after prince Morren. Alone or guided by one of the PC's enemies(probably a dragon-she might have been the one who created the undead Lorrister too) it starts raiding the Q'barran coasts near Adderport, where the PC' fortess is. I can't choose which type of undead he shall be though. There's definitely a lot of work to do here...which is why I'm asking for the community's thoughts and suggestions. So, what do you think :) ?
skrap-san 12-19-07, 06:07 AM	Now I don't have the biggest knowledge about all of this. but the way I see that the bad guy could become really bad is if you combine point 2 with point 3. First he decides that all his life has been in vain or so and decides to have himself a watery grave which make him rise as a Drowned from MM3 (they advance by character class). Seeing this as a new "dawn" hooks up with the aquatic Elfs learning from the krakens etc etc and then finally he decides to take revenge. Just a thought, hope it helps.
