| dormcook03-04-08, 11:36 PM | I am running a campain based in q'barra. The general description seems to be that lizard tribes guard ancient ruins from the age of demons. What would there ruins look like? What might they contain? Why are they guarded? I need to flesh the lizardfolk tribes and the ruins they guard to advance my plot. Any ideas? |

| Nundahl03-05-08, 08:36 AM | Also, early parts of the Eyes of the Lich Queen adventure (which I've yet to run, so don't quote me on how "good" it may or may not be) has a lot of Q'Barra adventures, putting all of that together should give you a fine idea of how to run the ruins. |
| dormcook03-05-08, 08:49 AM | I have used those posts and ideas. My problem is what would the ruins they are guarding look like? I understand ancient giant ruins, dragon ruins and even elven ruins but what would a demon ruin look like? What might be there still? |
| skrap-san03-05-08, 09:58 AM | I don't have much information about it, but i would look to the demon wastes to see how it would look in Q'barra. Just add jungle, and lizardfolks actually. And as far as I recall it was volcanic glass prism and such... |

There physical bodies may or may not be there, but they possess and alter creatures who come there. This means demonic or half demonic animals, monsters and humanoids. It could also mean posessed creatures who seem normal but act evil due to their influence. That seems to be whats going on with the Black Dragon in the old demon city in Q'barra. |

In the basic ad&d worlds demons are outworlders the product of strange ecologies on other planes. If they are on the material plane, they are just visiting and are not part of that world. We don't care if they have houses, eat, mate or have a social life. They are just tourists. In Eberron they should have all of those things in some form, and no help is given to flesh out that life, so we can describe there ruins. The basic demon described in the source book is a Rakshasha, which is a spirital shape shifter, but source material talking about Q'barra describe Vrok falling from the sky and lemmures still in the old demonic city. Those creatures are very different from Rakshasha. Looks to me like we need a Demon source book for Eberron. If 4th edition is going to have tieflings as a player race, that becomes even more important. |
