12-06-07, 09:43 AM Maybe Argon is derived directly from Draconic. Like how since I know German I can pick up one or two words from a sentence in Dutch.

Based on Draconic- but different enough to where you still can't rely on it for communications. I like the idea of Draconic being learned by the higher ranking spiritual/magical members of society though. That would you COULD say Argon effectively speak 2 languages, like how in the Eldeen Reaches and Shadow Marches, you have Common and various languages, but also the Druid sects with their own language.

As Skrap's idea that the sudden appearance of a PC might lead Serens to consider them a heretic, or (my own addition) perhaps make them appear as some kind of chosen/messenger of the Dragons.

Or for a plot device (stolen from Indiana Jones nr 3), a call to their prayers that will rid the lands of some ancient evil. In hindsight it looks a bit like yours.

Actually at the time, I was thinking of how C3P0 used his ability to speak the language of the tribal Ewoks (he spoke a more advanced dialect) to more effectively pass himself off as some sort of authority in order to save his friends from becoming dinner.

But as long as we're both thinking of pulp/adventure movies directed by George Lucas... :P
