So any ideas on Singe, Dandra, Geth, Orshok, Batul, Dah'mir, and Ashi ?

Singe: wizard/fighter, or maybe rogue/fighter
Dandra: what was that psionic class that lets you float?
Geth: Fighter. Straight up. And of course, beasthide, prolly elite too.
Ashi: prolly fighter/barb, and into heir of siberys, naturally.

I have only gone through the second book, but I'm really curious to see what other think as well.

I want to say that Dandra is a Kineticist with 3 levels in Elocater for the dimension door ability. She would focus on the telekinetic line of powers.

Singe I see as a Wiz/Ftr/Eldritch Knight.
I agree with you on Geth and Ashi though.

Not sure about eldritch knight, though that just wasn't a class I was fond of. You hit right on the head of what I meant about Dandra though.

Singe: Wizard/Fighter/elsdritch knight
Geth: Ranger/Fighter (he's always mentioned as having wilderness skills and has TWF)
Ashi: Fighter/Barb/Heir of Syberis
Dandra: Psion (Nomad)

Any thoughts on Dah'mir ?
Incudine

Dandra: Wilder (she has a very limited range of powers but veeery powerful)
Singe: Wizard/Swashbuckler (with the feat to cast all spells as fire energy)
Geth: Fighter/ Scout (no ranger spells for him)
Orshok: Druid
Batul: Druid
Ashi: Barbarian/Heir of Syberis
Natrac: Fighter/Rogue
XXXXX (cant remember the name): Hobgoblin bard

Why put singe in the swashbuckler spot? I just don't see the application, personally. Dandra... Elocator for the floating and dimension door ability mostly, unless someone else knows how to make a character float seemingly at will.

if I remember correctly the power called Skate lift you a bit off the ground.

A wilder has loads of pp and as such can use the power many times every day, but not at will. I think in a few cases Dandra war so tired and fatigues she could not lift herself at all.
Sometimes after she uses the telekinetic power to lift something very heavy she feels exhausted afterward (there is a wilder Class Ability does the same I think)

These are the reasons I think why Dandra is a wilder (and a high Charisma/beauty :))

Any thoughts on Dah'mir ?

Huge (go with Old, as a Mature Adult is too young to have done everything Dah'mir's done and Very Old is too strong) Copper Dragon with just enough levels of Artificer to be dangerous.

Why Copper and not Black? The slow gas breath weapon he uses...

I was always confused between Copper and Bronze for Dah'mir. He's got the breath weapon of the Copper, but the at will speak with animals ability and alternate form of the bronze. Of course, I guess he can just be using other spells and polymorph...

Line of acid and slow gas = Copper.

Also, it appears in the final underground battle that he's climbing the walls (spider climb is something even Copper Wyrmlings can do).

Personality-wise, Dah'mir seems to retain some of the Copper's love for taunting and witty comments (he thinks he's amusing even if no one else does).

From the text it appears he was given the ability to polymorph, since he was punished by having his human form taken away.

Hmmm, well we all know that in order for Ashi to start taking HoS she must have been at least level 12. So if we use that as a guideline for everyone else, I could see them all at least Singe, Dandra and Geth being the same level. I don't think Orshok or even Natrac would be up as high.

Geth - Male Shifter Ranger 3/Fighter 10
-3 levels of ranger to snag Track, TWF and Endurance
-Fav. Enemy probably human.
-Picks up Beasthide Elite, Impr. Unarmed Strike, TWD (maybe if his Dex is as high as 15), Power Attack chain, Weapon Focus (Gauntlet), Improved Buckler Defense, Die Hard, Impr. Toughness.

Singe - Male Human Wizard 5/Fighter 4/Eldritch Knight 4
-For one, he really doesn't even need to have the PrC, it won't do anything more for him than just taking more levels of fighter and wizard. I thought of maybe trying the Abjurant Champion from CM, but I don't think that fits him very well.
-Fighter feats, probaly Weapon Finesse and Weapon Focus (Rapier) for sure. Maybe Quick Draw or Combat Expertise
-Other feats, Combat Casting, Maximize Spell, Energy Substitution (fire), Research, I jumped on Education, but he already has all Knowledge skills from being a wizard, and he also doesn't seem to be favored by Deneith enough to have Favored in House
-Lots of Knowledge skills, History, Geography, Nobility and Royalty, Arcana

Dandra- Female Kalashtar Wilder 9/Elocater 4
-Dimension Door, Scorn Earth and Sidestep Charge make Elocater a winner
-I agree with the others that wilder is best, the ability to throw lots of muscle behind one power and burn herself out fits
-I could support that... crap, forgot the name of the kalashtar that Dandra was the psicrystal for. Anyway, I think as a plot hook, the kalashtar could have been a psion, and Dandra inheriting the body and powers without training lets her be a wilder. If that makes sense to anyone at all.
-Could drop two levels of wilder for two levels in Psy Warrior for the bonus feats to help pre-reqs for elocater

Ashi - Female Human Barbarian 8/Scout 4/Heir of Siberys 1
- Why scout? Not sure. But many of her tribe were stealthy hunters, so I figured scout would let her pick up some stealthier skills. You could switch the scout levels out for fighter without much trouble though.
-Pretty straight forward combatant, Power Attack, Weapon Focus etc etc

Natrac - Male Half-Orc Rogue 5/Fighter 2
-I just don't see Natrac being as straight up powerful as the main 4 characters. I mean he has more money and more contacts, but in Eberron that does not mean he needs to be of equal high level.

Orshok - Male Orc Druid 4
-Why so low? I don't remember him wildshaping ever. Or anything saying he was a variant druid of some sort, but maybe I missed something.
-He was brought along for his expertise in the Gatekeepers and healing magic. -If he prepared all healing spells (which is all I remember him using really) he has plenty to deal with what the party needed.

Ehkaas (sp?)- Female Hobgoblin Bard 12
-Level 12 gets her Song of Freedom. I know she used Countersong a few times, but Song of Freedom sounds about right for saving them from the Daelkyr
-Also, as to her high level, she is an elite Dhaakani agent working alone. She has to be able to take care of herself and have proven as much.

Alright, thats what I have for now. I'll stew on this some more tonight since there will be no sleep tonight, due to the general scarcity of sleep. In general.

Wouldn't Ashi need to have at least 2 levels in Heir of Siberys to use the mark? Also, I can't remember if she ever used Mind Blank more than once a day, but if she did, she'd need to be a 3rd level Heir.

... damn. I hate it when I don't look things through first. That doesn't even make sense, to burn a whole level to become a HoS before you even get the mark? And I'm pretty sure she uses it twice in the end of the last book now that I think about it. So, average party level becomes 15. I don't think I can even believe that for these characters.

You can't? I guess it depends on what age category Dah'mir is. I can totally believe it. Geth pretty much drove him back single-handedly. With a really awesome sword, yes, but he still did it alone.

Also, being in the same room as a Dealkyr Lord (for all intents and purposes) and not having your mind irrevocably shattered says a lot about how high a level you are. (Remember the named Dealkyr, like the Lord of Eyes or the Master of Silence, are bigger threats than standard CR 20 Dealkyr).

As for Heir of Syberis, I think mechanically it's fine to make you wait for your mark ability. Even with that "burned" level, you're getting an 8th or 9th level spell effect about three or five levels too early (compared to a wizard or cleric). Flavor-wise, though, I think it does kind of suck. You grow this useless magic tattoo that doesn't do anything for a whole level.

The books don't even follow the mechanics correctly. Ashi spontaneously "sprouted" her siberys mark the same time she used Mind Blank. There was no warning that she was going to develope the mark previous. By the RAW, she would have had to grown the mark back, say, at the end of book 1 and wait until just then to finally activate it. So by RAW, Ashi would have had to spontaneously gained two levels at once.

Personally, I'd rather say that at level 1 in HoS, there's no indication of getting the mark at all, instead of having one and not being able to use it.

Actually, I always got the impression that Ashi was of a higher level than the other characters, because of all the trouble she caused them before she joined up. At least three levels higher, by my estimation. Geth, Singe, and Dandra are the same level. Natrac and Ekhaas are close to the main three either way if they not equals. I remember Orshok wildshaping once, in the first book, so he's at least level 5. I'd put him at about three levels lower than the main three.

So, for me, it goes:

Main three (G,S,D)
Ashi = GSD+3
Natrac, Ekhaas = GSD or GSD +-1
Orshok = GSD-3

His study of where he striles when he uses his weapon(Precise Strike), rather than spells. It's there between the lines if you didn't find it as obvious as myself. Even if not by class he did have the mannerisms of a swashbuckling type. If someone is taking the time figure stats and feats this would be the most logical way to avoid spending feats to be proficient with a rapier. Due to the fact that the Rapier is considered an Exotic Weapon and would need Exotic Weapon Proficiency without being either Rogue or Swash.

Okay, if you mean Insightful Strike instead of Precise Strike, then we are all good. Precise Strike is an ability granted by the Duelist PrC (DMG pg 185-186) which adds +1d6 damage, Insightful Strike is something different from the Swashbuckler class in CW.

Could you please elaborate on that some more, because now I'm thinking I'm missing something or am confused by your wording.

Huh-what? The rapier is a martial weapon. Any class that gets martial weapon prof. can use a rapier. Also, when I tried to do a rough sketch of the characters, I kept in mind that Singe was and still is a soldier. Thats why I thought fighter would work best, its solid and straight-forward, much like his training recieved from the Blademarks would have been.

Mannerism of a swashbuckler... no not the way I see it. He had the mannerism of a soldier with good leadership and charisma. And why wouldn't a fighter try to study his opponent and be precise?
