Hi Everyone I'm kind of new to Eberron and I'm planning on running a Gurps Eberron campaign. I plan on using Erandis d'Vol as the main Antagonist. The PCs will probably have no idea that Vol is behind many of the plots that they foil untill later in the campaign.

I have outlined what Vol's main goals in my campaign will be I'm looking for help in fleshing out some individual plots she will have cooking to further those goals. Here are the goals I have planned for The Queen of the Dead:
1 Reinstate the house of Vol
2 Reactivate her mark of death
3 Enact revenge upon the elves of Aerenal
4 Enact revenge upon the dragons of Argonnessen

For each individual plot I will be looking for which goal she is pursuing, What she is doing, why she is doing it, how she is doing, what resources she is using to do it, what will happen if she is left to her plan uninterrupted, and ways to involve the heroes.

Here is a sample plot and a rough idea of what I am looking for. (My plot may be kind of lame I'm not that good at comming up with them thats why I'm asking for help.)

In order to reinstate the house of Vol, the lady V is looking for people with the mark of death. She has agents within the the Blood of Vol offer a Bath of Blood cleansing ritual. In the ritual a priest bathes the recipient naked in blood in order to offer them magical protection from disease and to extend there life. Its really just an excuse for the Priest to see them naked and check out if they have an Abberant Dragon mark that resembles the Mark of Death. In one Karnathi town the Priests have gone a step farther and started spreading magical disease to anyone unwilling to undergo the cleansing. If left unchecked by the heroes many other Blood of Vol churches will begin spreading disease.

Well thanks to anyone who spares some times to help an Eberron newbie come up with some good plots. Any information at all would be appreciated.

You could have the Blood also initiating a movement to be more inclusive of Abberant marked in general, since both groups are kind of marginalized (Abberant marked much more than BoVers). The Blood of Vol gets another tool to further its goals and add numbers of the disillusioned and power hungry to its fold, while Aberrant marked recieve a safe haven and people who seem interested in helping them develop their powers. Those with powers related to Necromancy or the Mark of Death would of course be highly valued.

If you go that route, then bathing people in blood to see them naked would be superfluous, since you'd have people with marks willing to reveal them to members of the clergy and other followers.

Thanks for the tip that sounds like a good idea.

I actually had the idea of running a similar game. Mine was just about reactivating Vol’s mark.

The general idea is that Vol is working on ways to activate dragonmarks on intelligent undead. Her plan has dragonmarked heirs being abducted and tested on, turning them into undead and then trying different magical and alchemical ways to reactivate their mark. She has some success with the fact that some of the dragonmarked are having their mark awaken again after death, but they are twisted forms of their mark in life (aberrant marks). The PCs are brought in by a member of a Dragonmarked house to investigate the disappearance of one of their members. This leads them to find him as a vampire with his twisted mark and the Vol’s plot to reactivate her mark.

In that order? ;)

Remember, re-activating the Mark first means that the Undying and the Conclave will be alerted to her return. Vol might be better served by taking them down FIRST... after all, they could be actively attempting to foil her re-activation attempt.

BUT she might take the view that only by having a restored House can she challenge the Undying and the Conclave... and maybe she already HAS a restored House.....

ummm...

Firstly, the Mark will only be found on elves. So having the larger program is somewhat a waste of resources. Also, it's doubtful that the Karrnathi gov't would be okay with this program. After all, Kaius wants to minimize BoV influence on his people--he would not allow them to all march into a cathedral to get checked out by a priest.

Additionally, most BoV priests aren't "in on it"--they aren't aware that they work for Vol. Communicating this back to Vol, or broadcasting it only alerts the many spies in the country.

Now, some sort of BoV/Emerald Claw epidemic, which strikes the Elven community of the PCs home city, specifically targeting those with a trace of Volish blood and the cure is being peddled by a somewhat sketchy, but on the face of it legit, apothecary... well... that's something else altogether.
