The Unsolved Mysteries of D&D article apparently details a cause for the Mourning, and the Dragonmarks article is called Echoes of the Mourning, by Keith Baker. It too pertains to the origins of the Mourning, as well as to certain environmental effects and a new feat for characters that experienced the Mourning and survived (the Drizzt of Eberron, but a concept I love). This has me very excited. I've always wanted something like this, though I've always loved being spoiled... :embarrass
LoneStranger 08-13-07, 07:37 PM	Actually there's another thread talking about this and the fact that it will never be officially revealed what happened on the Day of Mourning. It's supposed to be one of the few great unsolved mysteries of the entire D&D mythos. In short, don't be surprised if it turns out to a huge build up to nothin.

The Mysteries of D&D article states, according to the summary given by Alzrius, that it sets out to "solve some of the game's greatest mysteries! What really caused the Mournlands? Who is the Lady of Pain? Whatever happened to Carl Sargent? These mysteries and more are explored by the people who know them best!" This article was written by the Dungeon and Dragon staff members. Take this as you will. Plus there is the Keith Baker article, also pertaining to the Mournland. I'm quite anxious to get this issue!
