| Gospodin_I11-16-07, 07:39 AM | The Explorer's Handbook (p.89) only says that it is "located in the Mark Tower in Sharn" and also that "a wrought-iron staircase ducks under the Bridge of Giants" to lead to it. However, I can't find anything about the Mark Tower in S:CoT. Where would you put it? I think Menthis Plateau makes most sense, however the sourcebook says the Upper part of it is occupied mostly by the Morgrave uni and other similar buildings and the desc of Glitterdust says its south wall is made of glass and provides a view of nighttime Sharn which kind of leads me to the thought it's situated somewhere on the upper levels of the city. Any ideas? Which quarter, ward, and district do you find most appropriate for the nightclub? |
| Nived11-16-07, 09:20 PM | I can't find any reference to Mark Tower or to The Bridge of Giants, though I've looked. Even found a list of bridges between plateaus that was left out of the book. My guess though would actually be somewhere in the Central district. My only trains of logic are this, Mark Tower would most likely be located somewhere in the Dragon Towers neighborhood. Along side Cannith Tower, and Sivis Tower. Not all houses have their own towers, Kundarak shares space with Sivis (indeed the largest Kundarak bank in sharn is the capstone of Sivis Tower). Mark Tower would likely hold the official enclaves of Orien (who actually conducts most of its business in Tavik's Landing but would still need and enclave in this section of town), Medani, and so forth. Being placed in Dragon Towers would let it face out over the plateau south, towards the entertainment center of the city no less. The abandoned bridge guide that was mentioned in the Ask Kieth Baker thread offers no Bridge of Giants, however. Keep in mind these are the large bridges spanning the plateau gaps not the small ones between towers. The Triangle (These are three different sets of bridges, but the area is generally refered to as the Triangle -- so you have the Lower Triangle, Middle Triangle, etc.) Terminus (LTL) to Boldrei's Hearth (LC) Terminus (LTL) to North Market (LNE) Boldrei's Hearth (LC) to North Market (LNE) Tavick's Market (MTL) to Sovereign Towers (MC) Tavick's Market (MTL) to Holdfast (MNE) Sovereign Towers (MC) to Holdfast (MNE) Silvergate (UTL) to Koran-Thiven (UC) Silvergate (UTL) to Crystal Bridge (UNE) Koran'Thiven (UC) to Crystal Bridge (UNE) Center Bridge Black Arch (LTL) to Center Bridge (LM) Center Bridge (LM) to Granite Halls (LC) Little Barrington (MTL) to Everbright (MM) Everbright (MM) to Dragon Towers (MC) Ocean View (UTL) to University (UM) University (UM) to Highest Towers (UC) Bridge of Lights Dragoneyes (LTL) to Firelight (LM) Torchlight (LNE) to Olladra's Kitchen (LC) Cassan Bridge Cassan Bridge (MM) to Kenton (MTL) Griffon's Bridge Daggerwatch (UD) to Highest Towers (UC) Horizontal Lifts These are similar to the magical lifts that travel up the towers, but move back and forth horizontally; essentially they are large skycoaches that operate on a fixed path. These can be shut down by any of the watch commanders or the Knight-Commander of the Citadel, allowing Central Plateau to be isolated from Dura. Dava Gate (MC) to The Bazaar (MD) Tradefair (MC) to Hareth's Folly (MD) Deniyas (UM) to Twelve Pillars (UTL) Clifftop (UD) to Shae Lias (UNE) Crystal Bridge (UNE) to Pinnacle (UTL) Korranath (UC) to Redstone (UD) I want to direct your attention towards the 'Center Bridge', which is clearly multi tiered, with one bridge spanning University to Highest Towers, and Everbright to Dragons Towers probably being practically over each other, though probably separated by 50 or more stories. My proposal to you then would have the 'middle center' bridge from Everbright to Dragon Towers be nicknamed "The Bridge of Giants" for some reason, most likely scale and some giant statues on it, or perhaps decorated in a fashion of a Xen'drik ruin. Its not an official answer but you can't fault my logic! |
| Gospodin_I11-17-07, 09:24 AM | Well, if I was looking for an official answer I would have posted this in the "Ask Keith Baker" thread and your logic is perfectly reasonable. So thanks for the input. It helps. |
