Where is the female woman/elf/whatever from that appears on the Eberron icon for thes [Archive] - Wizards Community

This is my first post in the Eberron forums, so please forgive me if I posted this in the wrong section.

Since I have been coming to the Wizards.com forums I have seen this character on this icon:

I have wanted to know who she is, and what book she is from. Since she appears next to Elimentster (I probably spelled that wrong) on the front page I am guessing she might be a significant NPC in the Eberron setting, or something similar.

Is she? Is she just a random image? Either way a source would be greatly appreciated. The artist's name would also be very appreciated, since I am hoping he might sell prints of his work or something similar.

You can find the full illustration (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/eb_gallery/82096.jpg) in the Art Gallery (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/eb/20040618a), along with the name of the artist, Lucio Parrillo (http://www.lucioparrillo.com/pag2.htm). She is not a specific NPC; she doesn't even have a name that I am aware of - although given the mark on her back, she seems to belong to House Lyrandar.

Oh. And get into Eberron, now you are here. There's lots of similar art. And it's a good setting too. ;)

As for getting into Eberron, I wanted to. As a Psionics fan I have thought about it quite a bit. Sadly I was never able to find a group into it, and now with the death of 3.5 around the corner it is too late. I am already putting away my books and materials, so I am not looking into starting a new setting. Thanks, though! :)

However, Eberrons art and style always seemed to call out to me. It really did seem to fit my tastes.

Oh, and just to double check is she an elf?

If you can't find a group, don't give up on the world itself. There's always the novels... ;)

There's even a few that feature psionics.

That's sad... especially with the new campaign setting not going to be out until 2009, afaik. But as Ashlock says, you can still have fun with the world itself, even without a group, with novels and general immersion into the setting. And, of course, the boards here are usually quite friendly and willing to share ideas, too.

Though I do not blame you for being wary of buying 3.5 setting material with 4e around the corner, at least the fluff will (mostly, I trust) stay the same.

I do not know how much you know about Eberron, so essentially: The tattoo-like pattern on her back is actually a so-called "dragonmark", a magical birthmark that grants special powers to their bearers. They are tied to both race and and to bloodline (and the bloodlines have built financial empires on their respective marks).

So, the Mark of Storm (the one this half-elf has), can only be borne by half-elves with blood-relations to House Lyrandar, and the House itself has a huge influence in agriculture (they control the weather) and sea travel, and dominate the airship business.

Makes sense that you are a game designer. It always seems like only the DMs ever get the few gamer girls. I am guessing it has to do with the better than average charisma for a "geek". :thinks:

Actually, in my limited experience, Ed Greenwood is extremely people friendly. If I had to choose someone I knew to play Santa, I'd ask Ed.

That's why I try to read lots of threads by people who hate Eberron. I love my candy too much to give it away.

02-08-08, 01:02 AM The B&N experiences were actually funny. One involved a gamer guy who began casually chatting with me at the D&D books. No big whoop. Eventually it became obvious he was hitting on me. I kept fidgetting with my wedding ring and, when he didn't get the point, I mentioned my husband directly. In the nick of time, my fellow-gamer husband, all 6'5-and-not-skinny of him, comes into the aisle and scores a natural 20 on his Intimidate check against the creep. The look on the guy's face was priceless!:eek:

The other incident was "Toot". I was once again at the D&D stuff and was soon joined by a "just not right" looking guy. From the corner of my eye he seemed to be standing still, looking at the Manga books. Then out of nowhere he goes "Toot!" Okay, I've got time to kill, so I calmly leave the area for my second fave aisle, History. There it is again, like a sub pinging with sonar, "Toot!" I didn't see him, but I decided to move again. I swear he was following me! Everywhere I went I could hear him from maybe one or two rows away, even into rows that would have put him in books dealing with maternity and other women's health issues. "Toot!" I finally made a quick exit, half expecting to see him follow me out to the parking lot. I've never encountered him again at this store. Funny in a creepy way!:twitch: :looloo: :)

Most other guys I've run into have been decent, thankfully, but those two really added some color to the day!

Good luck with Florida. You could always use butterfly ballots...:)

Shiftkitty 02-08-08, 01:02 AM	The B&N experiences were actually funny. One involved a gamer guy who began casually chatting with me at the D&D books. No big whoop. Eventually it became obvious he was hitting on me. I kept fidgetting with my wedding ring and, when he didn't get the point, I mentioned my husband directly. In the nick of time, my fellow-gamer husband, all 6'5-and-not-skinny of him, comes into the aisle and scores a natural 20 on his Intimidate check against the creep. The look on the guy's face was priceless!:eek: The other incident was "Toot". I was once again at the D&D stuff and was soon joined by a "just not right" looking guy. From the corner of my eye he seemed to be standing still, looking at the Manga books. Then out of nowhere he goes "Toot!" Okay, I've got time to kill, so I calmly leave the area for my second fave aisle, History. There it is again, like a sub pinging with sonar, "Toot!" I didn't see him, but I decided to move again. I swear he was following me! Everywhere I went I could hear him from maybe one or two rows away, even into rows that would have put him in books dealing with maternity and other women's health issues. "Toot!" I finally made a quick exit, half expecting to see him follow me out to the parking lot. I've never encountered him again at this store. Funny in a creepy way!:twitch: :looloo: :) Most other guys I've run into have been decent, thankfully, but those two really added some color to the day! Good luck with Florida. You could always use butterfly ballots...:)
