There was some discussion about how the charcater tracker seemed to be giving blackwheel PCs the bonus EV from story objects.

Is that true? I have 9970 gp after playing at DDXP. Do I add the +200 gp for being 4th level (gnoll) and various story obects that give +100 or +150 gp on top of that?

Also, what exactly does it mean that I get something "recorded as event treasure" but "count as if you had purchased them normally (meaning they refresh each adventure as usual)." Aren't those two contradictory?

Is it saying write the item down once, but now I always have it on every subsequent adventure? Or is it only a benefit if I'm at a multi-session event?

That phrasing means, you got the event treasure so keep the item till your EV is updated, and should it be a disposable item or it gets destroyed AND you play more than one mod before your EV gets updated, the event treasure gets refreshed. That means if you have a potion as event treasure that you gained in the 1st mod of a con, and you play to more mods at that con, you can drink that potion in both mods.

Well there is one specific Story Object that is recorded under Event Treasure but that refreshes every adventure as if you bought it. I think that one is treated slightly differently, it that you keep it with you always (as if you purchased it from EV) and that it refreshes across events as well. It was a Crimson Codex story object from Tomb of Tomes.

From talking to the Factionmasters and asking that question, it appears that Blackwheel EV reported in the database takes into account your normal EV (from adventures) plus the +EV bonuses from any story objects in the database. It doesn't add in your +50 EV/Level faction bonus. However, if a story object isn't recorded (mainly those played at Origins or GenCon), then it won't be reflected in your database EV and will need to be added manually.

I posted a similar query a while back and the answer from Shawn was that the +EV bonuses from story objects wasn't accounted for in the character tracker number. We would need to add that in manually. Here's the other thread for reference.

Hope this helps rather than adding further confusion.

This was an answer I got directly from either Greg or Chris Tulach. Chris is our POC at WotC, and since he is away from the office for the week, I can't re-confirm that this is the case.

The only odd thing about that would be that my Blackwheel character started the level bump with 5150 XP. That would be the exact amount if the EV was adding in the +EV story objects recorded in the database. There would be no other way to come up with that number otherwise (As my level boost would have made it 5200 instead).
