Does that mean that a human fighter PC has 290gp, but a gnoll fighter 1 has only 240gp? or does that just mean that they aren't second level charcacters for purposes of starting cash? |

The thing is, gnoll characters will have an EV proportionate to their ECL after some adventuring (seeing as they do not actually gain a class level when they hit 1000 xp), and level kicks always award EV proportionate to the level kicking. Concerning the extra gold awarded for being a member of the Blackwheel Company, it is based purely on character level, which means gnolls will be one level behind (after 1st level) on this bonus. |

The "gnoll level" is more like a template with a LA than a "level". The thing is, gnoll characters will have an EV proportionate to their ECL after some adventuring (seeing as they do not actually gain a class level when they hit 1000 xp), and level kicks always award EV proportionate to the level kicking. When your printout says you're 3rd level, which means you're a second level gnoll fighter, is your Blackwheel EV bonus still 150 (50x3), or only 100? I'm thinking you should go by the ECL of 3. |
