| Essiembre01-23-07, 11:04 PM | I went and submitted results for four events and wanted to validate results until the very end. But all I see credit for was the last event I reported. I can't seem to validate the other three, how can I get back to the reporting screen to validate those three other events? |
| pedr01-24-07, 02:02 AM | Do you mean four separate /events/ (i.e. four separate links on your main members' page)? Or do you mean four scenarios (four modules)? Or do you mean four sessions (four lots of 4-6 players plus a DM playing one module)? If you post which one I might be able to help some more! |
| Essiembre01-24-07, 10:21 PM | I had one event with four senerios scheduled. I answered all the questions and hit the submit button. I waited to hit the validate results until I entered the results for the last event. When I validated, it only gave credit for playing the last event I had entered results for. |
| pedr01-25-07, 07:33 AM | OK that's very odd. Let's ask this step-by-step: 1) What campaign was this? I'll assume it's XE, as that's the most complicated! If it's something else, ignore the questions which don't apply. 2) How many sessions did you put in the event ordering form (the last box)? 3) I'm assuming everyone played each scenario once. In that case, did you do the following: a) Enter the first scenario's results on a screen with a '1' in the Session # drop down box and the first scenario's name in the scenario drop down box b) Click 'Submit Results' c) Choose the correct characters for each player, verify their names were correct, and click on and fill in the scenario questions (this is XE/MoH specific) d) Click 'Submit Results' again (I'm not sure if that's necessary, I do it to be certain they're there. e) Select '2' in the Session # drop down box and click 'Go to selected session'. If there was no '2', clicked 'Add Session', and possibly 'Go to selected session' so that the session 2 appears in the box. f) Change the scenario name to the second scenario, and repeat the process until you have four session with data (they should have asterisks next to the numbers) and no sessions without data (nothing next to the numbers) except for deactivated sessions (minus signs next to the numbers). g) Once all that had been done, click 'Validate All Results'. I think that's the correct procedure for getting all your results in. If you did that correctly, you'll have to email rpgasanctioning@wizards.com and also get your players to file appeals. If you missed any stage, you probably need to send a slightly more pleading letter to rpgasanctioning@wizards.com to see if they can re-open your event so you can add the results. I hope that helps - sorry it's long-winded, and it is definitely not the most intuitive of systems! The knack is to never, ever, ever click 'Validate All Results' until you're absolutely sure all the data is entered. It's a good idea to go back to previous sessions to check that the names and scenario are correct - and, in the case of XE/MoH, that the answers are correct too - before finally clicking the validate button. Once you've done that, there's no way back! |
| Essiembre01-27-07, 12:07 AM | Let's face it, the system is poorly set up for reporting events. It's too easy to make mistakes and you can't go back and correct it. The appeals process seems such a hassle its a wonder anybody does it. I'm just going to tell my players that they won't be getting credit. At least with the adventure journal, as long as they play with me, I'll give them the credit their characters are due. Luckly my players are more interested in playing then receiving the rewards. I think unofficially, we will be running all of the blackwheel scenerioes up until the level kick, just so my players know the background story. |
| pedr01-27-07, 08:02 AM | I agree... I think I've only made one mistake, and I act as senior GM for a reasonably large local group of players. Still, that mistake was annoying and had knock-on reporting effects. Fortunately it was an LG event so the only 'real' drawback was I think one player losing some reward points - and the activity history being wrong for about five people (I chose the wrong scenario from the drop-down box and no-one noticed it for a very long time... long after it was worth worrying about or emailing anyone to try to get fixed!) Having said that, the system does work, and once you get used to it it's not that bad and is reasonably efficient. I just wish there was an option for a Senior GM to edit things if they make a mistake! |
