Hey all. I don't know if this has been brought up before, but it just occured to me that since we're in a military heirarchy, it might be interesting to have some kind of interesting benifit tied to the leadership feat. I'm not entirely sure what, but it seems like it might be interesting to tie your rank or your ability to gain rank to your character's leadership score. I personally don't have much interest in cohorts or followers, but I like the idea of taking a leadership position in the company, and it seems like some use of the feat would really fit (besides, my character is already dragonmarked and headed for Dragonmarked Heir, so it's fitting she should be at the top of the heirarchy). ;)

Cohorts and followers are messy. Just ask the original playtest group for the Blackwheel Company, where we allowed them. We had something like 3 cohorts, 17 followers, and 3 or 4 mounts all on the table at once. Thank the great dragon below for maximized fireballs!

Anyhow, that's an RPGA-wide prohibition, but I feel what you're saying Randall. In a sense, that's what I tried to encapsulate in the "rank" system in the first place. What you'll find is that your actions in game, particularly your real-table-experience and use of leadership (in the abstract sense of the word) leads to promotion. In fact, modules are coming where only a select few players at a table can be promoted, perhaps only those that use a combination of different skills to best exemplify leadership in the party. And, of course, rank then has its privledges. :tie:

I have the jist of what you're trying to say amigo, and I tried to incorporate that in a different mechanic than Leadership (the feat system) which was just a bit too messy.

There's a ranking system written down?

Could we get a look at it, I know that my character was looking to progress up the chain and I'm sure others are looking to do the same. Having a title/rank we've actually earned in game would be fun for when we sit at the table.

It's coming.
Kiddoc is a proud parent as of the other night, and his dozy helpers are well, dozy, and slow to help him finalize the BWC Org Chart. :D
He has some great stuff to post up on the web eventually, once some of the more important behind the scenes type things get done. (Aka, they make up for all the stuff they are behind, fix DB issues etc etc)

The big push was (well after the having the daughter thing) for the campaign standards. I have a feeling we'll see some good flavor type stuff for each of the factions here soon. (I know we will for BWC. )
