Question on Expansion Sources [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-01-07, 01:41 PM Looking over the campain standards 2.0, I'm realizing that the Monster Manual is not listed as an expansion source (for feats). In other games, like mark of heros, there was a clause in the standards that allowed this, but I see none here; it is also not an unlimited source. Is it possible to use any material from the Monsters Manual?

Also, while I have your attention, does anyone know the new EV of charecters after the level bump?

It's in the standards. It mentions that the feats are locked but not restricted.

The people who know aren't talking. I have heard rumors that it will be the DMG table amount, but the EV for the first level bump was lower than that table, so I expect this level bump will be lower too. Other people have said it will probably be the Mark of Heroes level bump amount. If I were you I'd equip your guy with 17K and figure out what you would if you had 1000 or 2000 more.

08-02-07, 03:59 AM I think they intended it to be the DMG value and suspect they are debating it now that it's been pointed out that virtually every PC is behind that level.

I gather the MoH EV was 18,000gp which is about where people have been hitting 7th level.

08-02-07, 12:29 PM If you look at "Poll: beating the next level kick?" topic you'll see that many people have insane amouts of gp and xp... so I'm in doubt if they're going to aim at lower values or if they'll get higher ones to balance things.

Well that's where I got my information. There's nothing insane about having more than the level bump when it comes around.

What I saw there was everyone hitting level 7 with about 1800gp. It couldn't be less important how much money they have at 9th level.

08-02-07, 02:57 PM Somewhere or other I think I saw one of the FM's say something about being able to ASSUME wealth-by-level guidelines from the DMG for the bumps.

Of course, only the XECS will know for sure.
