A Warblade would make such an awesome BWC character.

08-30-06, 12:42 PM It's really doubtful that you'll see it in the campaign standards for this campaign, ever. Your best bet is to hope that Book of Nine Swords gets put into a Campaign Card, like Magic of Incarnum with Mark of Heroes.

It's a book that's already out, and they're in the process of making a Xen'drik Expeditions CS with our own restriction list. . . why not use Tome of Battle?

08-31-06, 08:39 AM I think the main reason is that Tome of Battle *really* changes character builds and adds a lot of new power that probably hasn't been accounted for in the 'current' set of modules that exist or are being planned for. If you don't think ToB has a lot of power, just take a visit to the Character Optimization Boards to see all the drool :)

Campaign Cards with limited options are probably what you will see from ToB in Xen'drik, at least for the immediate future.

Fact is, you can't be any more broken with a build from there as you can with most of the other sources. A bit of intelligence behind what is allowed, unlockable or simply banned and I think it would probably work out.

Chris: if a campaign card unlocks it, it would make sense to put it in. However, I can't see general access to the base classes happening, factional or no. Maybe feats and PrCs, but adding base classes seems like a stretch when we already have interesting base classes from Magic of Incarnum and PHBII, not to mention the Complete Series.

So, did you mean that the feats, PrCs, and items in the book would be unlockable via unlock slots, or did you mean that people would be able to take base classes (without a Campaign Card).

I would imagine though that after a few months (and an errata) it could find its way into the mix. XE already has the most expansive and open character generation system that exists ... it is natural that it be included eventually.

My understanding though is that in its present form (ie, no errata) it isn't as likely as post-errata.

We are reserving judgement on this book in its entirety until after its errata is released. Once we have a comprehensive rule set from that sourcebook, we will review it for suitability in the campaign.

We as factionmasters like much of the material in the book but its complications make it a problematic fit at the moment. Will it never find its way into Xen'Drik Expeditions? We never say never.

Well, except those three times... :)

We are reserving judgement on this book in its entirety until after its errata is released. Once we have a comprehensive rule set from that sourcebook, we will review it for suitability in the campaign.
