Is this game supposed to be a single session? I do not see how it can be...it's a really long and wordy game. Single sessions are supposed to be about 4 hours...and i think I'll be hard pressed to even do all the mandatory talking within that time limit...

For anyone out there who have already ran this: How much time did it take you to run it?

I haven't run it (yet), but our group at DDXP played it in a standard 4 hr slot without running over. And our DM pretty much read/acted out all the parts.

I also played it at DDXP and was within the timeslot. I would suggest simplifying NPC on NPC combat as much as possible, though.

Good, that's good to know. I was a bit worried, because it's a hard 4 hour slot I am running it in. Can't go over even a few minutes.

I think you will find that most adventure writers truly do appreciate when a DM tailors the adventure to fit the PCs and the circumstances--within reason, of course. As long as you touch on the elements of the adventure, everyone should be happy.

I've run the BWC4 twice and the best that I can offer on the time subject is preparation. Have stat cards printed for all of the minions for ready reference, draw out the maps ahead of time, and if at all possible get an assistant to run half of the minions.

I have the maps pre-drawn out on dry erase already, and I am definitely getting all the encounters pre-printed off. I had to cheat the "encrypted" pdf to an image and then re-ocr it to copy/paste it to a better medium. They really should give out passwords to these so we can copy from the original.

I have a very good group of veterans so it should run pretty fast....and they do well keeping up during combat so combat usually takes about 1/2 the normal time. We have finished some 4 hour adventures in two and a half hours.

I've run it three times now, never went over 3 1/2 hours.
