I am going to be running the “Principal of the Matter” this Sat. for a group and am wondering where we go from here. We will not be meeting again until after the new year. Should I bother scheduling Well of Woe or just running DM’s Mark 1 and see how things go.

I am also wondering what lvl Mere of Shattered Souls is for. I don’t see it on the scenario anywhere.

Any suggestions are welcome.

If you're not playing again till after the new year, forget DM's Mark 1, DM's Mark 2, or Blackwheel 2, because they retire on 12/31. You'll need to check on Well of Woe as well, because I believe that also retires on 12/31. Otherwise, I'd go with Blackwheel 3-Marked Man, and then Mere of Shattered Souls, which I believe is optimized for 2nd level characters. Keep in mind, everything that dosen't expire on 12/31 expires on 1/17/07, so you'll want to get them in as fast as you can. My own weekly group is currently fighting with trying to get in another three faction mods and four DM's marks before the end of the year, so I feel your pain. Good luck!

So what if we can't get them in? Will there be more mods for lower levels or will they have to do a lvl jump?

As far as the mods that are currently available, I'd say to give them a try and warn your player's that it may be a bumpy ride. Not sure what else to tell you, but the mods shouldn't be so difficult that your players will find them impossible. As far as everything else, the first level bump will take place in Feb., and will occur before any new modules will be released, so at the very least they'll be ready for those mods. Hope this helps.

From a design perspective I envisioned (and ran my playtest group through) the following order:

Principal of the matter
Well of Woe 1
Well of Woe 2
Well of Woe 3
DM's Mark 1
Price of Progress (it can be rough at level 1)
DM's Mark 2
Marked Man
DM's Mark 3
Cairn of Stone Hearts
The Trouble with Pirates (best yet!!)
Tarnished Reputation
DM's Mark 4
A Strike at the Heart

Hope that helps!

Hmm. . . is Cairn of Stone Hearts the expedition mod after Mere of Shattered Souls? Is it a three parter? :D

Without looking at each mod do you know if all fo these will retire on or before 1/17/07? If not I can go take a look at each one and go from there.

Most of Kiddoc's postings are not even in the system yet. That's one benifit you get from being the Factionmaster for Blackwheel: you get to know what everything is before everyone else!

Marked Man is currently in the system, and retires 1/17/07. I would assume that all the #3 faction adventures are the same.

There should be a DM's Mark 3 (I think) but it is not listed as of this moment.

Mere of Shattered Souls is the next Expedition mod, and also retires 1/17/07.

The rest of these:
Cairn of Stone Hearts
The Trouble with Pirates (best yet!!)
Tarnished Reputation
DM's Mark 4
A Strike at the Heart
are the next Blackwheel Company mods, which you do not have high enough clearance to know about yet! :) (Neither do I! :P )

First: so what will happen if we being Well of Woe and can't get all three rounds scheduled by 1/17/07?

Second: What if I just jump straight to Marked Man or Mere of Shattered Souls? I am sure I can get one session in by 1/17/07.

I've started my session with principal of the matter and went right too price of success. Once I downloaded the well of woe, I realized that per the standards 1.1, the party should be second level, yet the well of woe is written more for a 1st level group... will I need to adjust every module? Is there suppose to be a specific order that these modules are to be played?

Well of Woe can be pretty tough even for savvy level 1's. If you're going to level 2, just advance the tactics used by the monsters a bit. Particular encounters are going to be especially challenging with "smarter" monsters.

If you're looking for my recommendations on play order, I'd say go with the following (altered slightly from the list posted above):

Principal of the Matter
Well of Woe 1
Well of Woe 2
Well of Woe 3
DM's Mark 1
Price of Progress (it can be rough at level 1)
DM's Mark 2
Marked Man
DM's Mark 3
Mere of Shattered Souls
The Trouble with Pirates (best yet!!)
Tarnished Reputation
Cairn of Stone Hearts
DM's Mark 4
A Strike at the Heart
