Jagren Cade is a Human Scout 4/Ranger 4 former Cyran Border Sentinel trying to make his way in the world in the aftermath of the Day of Mourning. Little wonder he's ended up among the outcasts, exiles and ne'er-do-wells of the Cabal. So long as his bow and skills serve some purpose, he's content to make his home among this diverse lot He travels frequently with other Cyrans - all former members of the elite Silver Talons Unit - Ren Armstrong, Human Cleric 8 of Siberys; Vrelt, Human Duskblade 8 and Ron Purplescale, diabolical Gnome Sorcerer 8. The group is often accompanied by Sir Blunt, a displaced morningstar-wielding Brelish Warforged Knight 8; Spike, a spiked chain-wielding Warforged Barbarian 7 of uncertain origin; and Soph, a Changeling Beguiler 8 from Cyre. |

Little is known of its origins except that it was donated to the Cabal by one of its associates, a gnomish artificer named Zzyzx, for "field testing". It has little to say, rarely uttering a single syllable, but its steadfast devotion to protecting its fellow Cabal members has earned it a reputation as an unusually reliable ally in this bloodstained halls. When walking around Stormreach, keep an eye out for an composite plated warforged with a buckler and a purple headband adorned with a bright orange pinwheel: beneath that illusionary fascade hides the adamantine monstrosity of the Mourners. |
| ohako7909-08-07, 09:13 PM | Down in the subterranean stables, you discover...an impossiblity. A praying mantis, half again as big as a horse, appears to be calmly munching on a goat carcass. The creature moves very little, but at an insect-fast speed. Its jerky movements are such that you cannot develop a rapport with it, you cannot read its body language. To you, it's just a monster. Some Xen'drik horror...and yet...someone has jury-rigged an ox yoke and a wicker rocking chair into a kind of saddle for the creature. You smirk to think that even something as monstrous as this can be tamed and put to work in the context of Civilization...and then you begin to think about the kind of mind that would have to exist to bridge the gap between the human and the alien. And then you turn around. Zoraxa, the Insect Queen. Druid 7. |
