One of the perks of being in the Cabal is that, not only do we get access to the assassin and blackguard PrC's, but that we may also unlock any restricted PrC that has an evil alignment requirement. I have found a nearly complete list of such PrC's.

This first group of PrC's are those that are explicitly covered by the above perk:

Ghost Faced Killer (Complete Adventurer)
Ravager (Complete Warrior)
Talon of Tiamat (Draconomicon)
Ur-Priest (Complete Divine)

All you need to do is spend one of your expansion item slots on any of the above PrC's (following the restrictions of adding PrC's to your expansion list), and your character can be one.

Now, the next group of PrC's are those that don't exactly require an evil alignment as a prerequisite. Some require a non-good or non-lawful alignment, others allow one or two non-evil alignments, and one requires the worship of an evil deity without having an actual alignment requirement. They are:

Acolyte of the Skin (Complete Arcane)
Alienist (Complete Arcane)
Black Flame Zealot (Complete Divine)
Blighter (Complete Divine)
Blood Magus (Complete Arcane)
Death's Chosen (Libris Mortis)
Dirgesinger (Libris Mortis)
Entropomancer (Complete Divine)
Eye of Gruumsh (Complete Warrior)
Fleshwarper (Lords of Madness)
Master of Shrouds (Libris Mortis)
Menacing Brute (Races of Destiny)
Mindbender (Complete Arcane)
Pale Master (Libris Mortis)
Scar Enforcer (Races of Destiny)
Stormlord (Complete Divine)
True Necromancer (Libris Mortis)
Walker in the Waste (Sandstorm)

This list includes all of the XE books except Five Nations, Magic of Eberron, Player's Guide to Eberron, Secrets of Xen'drik, Dungeon Master's Guide II, Spell Compendium, Complete Psionic, Frostburn, Magic of Incarnum, and Stormwrack.

The problem with the second list is two-fold; one: we don't know which are restricted, and two: we don't know which classes are covered under the unlocking of evil PrC's rule.

If we could get a ruling on what will be made available, I believe it would be well appreciated. I would also like to add that some of these classes may seem "inappropriate" for Eberron, as those classes are flavored towards a specific campaign, but all of them can easily be adapted so that they are Eberron appropriate. A good example would be the Stormlord from Complete Divine, which requires the worship of Talos, a FR god. By changing this to the Devourer, it easily becomes appropriate to the campaign. You can do the same with the Eye of Gruumsh, instead dedicating the class to the Mockery or the Dragon Below.

If anyone finds another class that belongs on these lists, feel free to post them here.

We can add Pious Templar of an evil deity.

And some PCs might have to be working toward a class since 1st level. Having a character that takes sub-optimal character options with the hopes of getting into a prestige class only to find out that a character class is restricted creates a lot of retired characters.

While I have no doubt that several of the "nongoods" will be available to the cabal, several might not be so. Blighter, for example, might present a problem. The Sierra Club does not have a Xen'drik chapter. Blighting huge swaths of jungle so that a Child of Winter/Blighter can cast spells might be detracting to the campaign setting.

TO GREG MARKS: what is your opinion on the "nongood" prestige class issue? While I know that an opinion that you post here doesn't always reflect the finished project, I'm sure that everyone is dying to know what you are lobbying for on this issue. (Although I know that you are busy with GENCON right now and so will not be able to answer this question promptly.)

Eye of Gruumish needs no modification. Gruumish is a tribal deity to the orcs of the Shadow Marches.

We are working now on a true full update of the campaign standards. The list of the pclasses opened up by Cabal of Shadows should be fairly extensive.

So lets say I want to be a drow wizard. What sort of ugly nasty PrC would you recommend? I'm used to playing LG, but excited to play evil and a PrC that I couldn't play in LG.

What about Undead or Undying characters? When I reach 11th caster lvl and have Creat Misc Magic Item, can I make a Phylactery? When my PC is drained to death by a wight? Just some things to think about for the future, as characters advance.

can't answe thew phylactery question (though I'd bet the answer is gonna be No) but if you're drained to death by a wight, you're dead, even in the evil faction, wights aren't playable

Now a vampire is playable, (i.e. it has an LA) so lets wonder about that instead ;-) (probably still hah, no dice)

Sorry, I thought wights created spawn, my bad.

Libris Mortis has Undead racial levels, in the chapters we are allowed to use. They're like racial hit dice except you can start taking them at any time, not just at the beginning of your character. Vampire isn't there, but vampire spawn is . . .

Just throwing that out there, if you really want to play an undead character.

What about access to something like the Necropolitan template? It's not a PrC or Class, so I don't THINK it could be unlocked. A player was asking about it. I told him no. Any input?
