Skerrit 06-25-06, 01:18 PM	Welcome to the Cabal of Shadows. We have the chance to explore something the RPGA has never let happen before. As a group, we're flat out evil. Sure you can be neutral, but in some cases that might pose a moral dilemma now and then, and being a good aligned PC will cause you no end of troubles. So embrace the darkness within, we're going to need it if we're going to stop all those good guys from making the world all bright and shiny. That said, I thought I would offer those interested in the Cabal the first look at how our organization works. Keep watching this forum for more teasers every few days. THE CABAL OF SHADOWS Children of Darkness Evil is only a word. Fools cling to the idea that all that is noble is beautiful, that good things can only be found in light. We know better. We have touched the darkness, and we face the shadows without fear. For that we are reviled, hunted, even killed. No more. Ancient power lies in Xen’drik. The Caldyn Fragments speak of a time of darkness, and the blind rush in, seeking to save the world. But we do not fear the coming of night, and in Xen’drik we shall find our destiny. -Drago Tarkanan, the Voice of the Storm Malyssi bears an aberrant dragonmark, a twisted tattoo that burns with magical fire. Resk is a changeling, who has worn a hundred faces and answered to a thousand names. Dolharkad is a kalashtar, but his soul is out of balance; where his brothers are calm and focused, he is driven by madness and rage. Xaela is a tiefling, touched by Mabar; she hides her horns beneath a deep hood. These are just a few of the children of darkness, troubled souls driven into the shadows by the superstitions of the commonfolk. For years, they and their ancestors have been persecuted by the masses. People call them monsters: thieves, murderers, madmen, servants of dark gods. Some of them are all of these things, and worse. Others simply want to find a way to survive in this hostile world. Now these children of darkness have come together in the city of Stormreach. There is power in Xen’drik, and prophecies speak of a time when the balance will shift between light and darkness. Some of these deadly operatives seek vengeance on a world that has wronged them. Others hope to find peace in the next age. Together, they are the Cabal of Shadows, and they are a force to be feared. Necromancers, assassins, warforged warriors built for battle and then abandoned; they are the stuff of nightmares, and they will make this age their own. You should join the Circle of Shadows if you prefer the idea of a darker, more sinister campaign. They were up on these boards for a while (I believe the thread was "Teaser #2") but that thread seems to have disappeared. I have them copied and pasted, but I'll wait for Greg to say it's OK to repost, as they may have been removed for a reason. (Like they are going up on the website sometime REAL soon, we hope?) :D
