Factional Secrecy [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-27-06, 03:50 PM What percentage of the population of Stormreach is a member of one of the four factions? How many members of the Covenant of Light are there? How common is the knowledge of our existence? Do we keep ourselves secret?

When we're playing a core event we obviously know out of character that everyone else at the table is in one of the four factions, but do we know that in character?

The Covenant of Light is a fairly young organization, only three years of official age. In that time, more than five hundred people have flocked to the Lady of the Dawn's banner. The Covenant is not at all a secret group, operating openly as the "Light" should.

Though they make up only a small fraction of Stormreach's 11,000+ population, they are a quite noticable faction and arguably are rivalled only by the Blackwheel Company in visual recognition by the city's common folk.

Recently, the flood of immagrants and explorers has swelled their numbers beyond the faction's previous limits. The Covenant (and all three other factions) is expected to double or triple its membership before the end of the year. This is causing some serious concern in the Covenant's upper management; the Lady greatly enjoys the larger "army of Good" at her command while the Lord of Radiant Hold is left to grapple with the logistical problems of housing, equipping and training so many new recruits...

...and then there are the hidden agendas that come along with rapid, unchecked growth.

Yes, this increase in visibility and membership is... "interesting." Your competition for the hearts, minds, and purses of Stormreach has been noted. We will deal with that soon enough. ;)
