| Daddy Warcrimes08-14-06, 05:40 PM | I was lucky enough to be in a group that got our Factionmaster as a DM for the second CoL mod. It was probably the highlight of the Convention for me. So, if you ever have the chance, bite claw and scrape to get him to be your DM. Just wanted to give him a public thanks! Daddy Warcrimes AKA Ranndarius, Aasimar Cleric of Force and destruction. |
| Tyranthraxus08-15-06, 01:11 AM | Daddy (feels very strange saying that), Were the rules for Xen'drik Exp at Gencon different to the ones as displayed in the pdf downloadable not far from here?. The reason I ask is because I dont remember any of the 'good' gods giving access to force or Destruction I just want to know if there is a little more Eberon flavor in the latest version of the pdf. The pdf as it is now seems a little.. eberron lite. |
| Harliquinn08-15-06, 08:31 AM | You don't have to worship one of the good deities (Sovereign Host, Flame, Path of Light) to be in the Covenant of Light faction :) You just can't be 'evil' :) |
| Daddy Warcrimes08-15-06, 03:08 PM | I don't worship a god, I channel the power of Syberies which lets me pick any two domains. As my first level unlock I picked force. Thus with my face-beater cleric I stride forward into the jungles, "EVIL MUST BE PURGED!" So thats how it is done, it is in the 1.0 campaign guide. |
| Tyranthraxus08-16-06, 12:29 AM | Im suddenly seeing a legion of people playing Clerics of Siberys.... |
| Davien08-16-06, 08:19 AM | Daddy I hate to rain on your parade, but worshipping the dragon above lets you select ONE domain, not two. |
| jeffpicard08-16-06, 08:47 AM | That's One domain from the Spell Compendium via your Expansion slot, you still pick a total of 2 domains, but the other has to be PHB/ECS |
| Davien08-16-06, 11:47 AM | I suppose that someone could interpret it in that way, but IMO it doesn't clearly state that you still get two domains. I just figured that it was a game balance thing... (ie. you get two domains for worshipping a specific god and only one domain for not having to worship a specific god). |
| Mherduwynn08-16-06, 12:46 PM | Clerics of Syberis get two domains. One can come via their expansion slot but the other must come from the PHB or the ECS, just as mentioned above. The wording is a bit unclear and will be corrected in CS 1.1 As for game balance, there are are few elements of that in the campaign itself. One, there are few to none as far as prestige classes for a cleric of Syberis that involves their diety. It IS a very tempting choice in its open flexibility but for a campaign setting so full of background flavor and substance, I doubt it will be a major issue. Take care all, -August P.S. Daddy, I am glad you enjoyed the table I ran. That was an absolute blast! |
| Daddy Warcrimes08-16-06, 01:57 PM | Heh, One of my favourite parts of playing that table was revealing what my domains were... DM (Mherduwynn): What are your cleric domains by the way? Me: Force and destruction. <shocked silence> DM:Uh, Why are you part of the covenant of light?? Me:Evil must be purged!!! DM:I guess so, and have a telephone pole rammed up its ass! Daddy Warcrimes |
